"Resident Eviiil...The Umbrella Chroniclesss..."
When I learned this game was going to be an on-rail shooters, I was half excited and half skeptic. Half excited because I love on-rail shooters, half skeptic about having one of the best survival/horror series being turned into something that the series has had little success before.
But when I got my hands on this game, I was in awe. This has become one of the most fun on-rail shooters I have ever played.
Environment items you can destroy by shooting at them, finding hidden files and weapon ammo in them as well, this game gives you a reason to go around crazy shooting at stuff in the background, which makes it even more fun.
As expect Resident Evil's iconic enemies, zombies, have returned. Now they're much harder to kill and more threatening. They can lunge at you in short runs, attack you with swipes, even grab you and take a nice bite out of you. They can be killed with one shot to the forehead (Forehead, not head) but that's going to take some practice to get these shots almost immediately. Remember, as you try to aim for the forehead these undead monsters are slowly getting closer to you every second.
Other Resident Evil enemies like Hunters and Chimeras also return, including memorable bosses like Tyrants, the giant scorpion from Resident Evil 0 and of course, the most famous Tyrant, the Nemesis. "S.T.A.R.S..."
The game is separated by four scenarios, each of them based on Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, Resident Evil 3, and a brand new scenario narrating how Umbrella was finished. You have a lot of unlockables and a ranking system that will make you come back to try to rank S in all of the chapters (A good reward if you S rank every single chapter on Hard mode).
The game is also compatible with the new Wii Zapper, allowing more accurate and steady aiming. I recommend this game for any on-rail shooter fans and Resident Evil fans. It's that fun, especially in 2 player mode co-op.
