For some reason, every single one of my Brother Bear music videos have been removed because Disney complained. And it seems that any Brother Bear videos were removed. And it's not just Disney. I also heard word that Warner Bros is removing all kinds of cartoon shorts off of YouTube. I've read an article about this issue. Here's the link: mayersononanimation.blogspot.com/2006/07/youtube-purge-and-copyright-rant.htmlHas anyone else been a victim of this "video purge" and "copyright infrigment"?

I know why they did it... Someone put up the whole BB2 video on the web and Disney apparently complained. It's gone now. Then someone else tried it... I'll be willing to bet that one's gone too.

Well, I agree if someone just put the whole movie on internet cuz the only thing I know about copyright is that you're not allowed to distribute or copy it for your own profit.
I don't think they're allowed to remove your BB music videos, because it's just for fun and not for getting money

I understand the deletion of the BB2 video. After all it was a new release. But I don't understand why they deleted the music videos.

But putting the whole movie online doesn't give anyone profit either. Especially not the poster. It could prevent someone from buying the movie though if they didn't like it enough.

Putting a whole movie up is a bad idea because, well think of it this way: why would people spend money to see a movie by buying or renting it when you can watch it for free on YouTube? Then whoever wants to sell the movie doesn't make any money because people are getting it for free.

Yeah, all three of my Brother Bear music videos were removed. It's made me quite mad, actually. I worked hard on those.

Mine was removed as well. I was afraid this would happen.
To be fair, we were signing on for this from the beginning. We knew we were breaking the rules. It's impossible to create a YouTube account without knowing that; the rules were very clear. I actually felt guilty, doing exactly what I was told not to do.
I'm disappointed, but not angry. We'll just have to find another way.

I don't see how making music videos is anything wrong. It's not for profit. It's like free advertisement. There was no reason for them to complain.
Ah well, I'm not going back to YouTube after what happened, since I'm still furious at Disney. So from now on, any music video I make will be for me only, and I'll take requests and post them up on YouSendIt.Com, because it doesn't last very long there.

Personally I think we should respect Disney's wishes to remove those videos, even the music ones. Even though it seems unfair, here is a scenario for you; say you have the movie. You make a 5 and a half minute music video on it. You put it on the web. There is no regards to spoilers. There is no regards to whether you should watch the movie first or the music video you uploaded. And then someone watches it and says "Man this movie doesn't seem to complicated, I don't need to buy/rent it now that I know the theme/story!" All in all, it's producing a spoiler to the public that anyone can watch, even if they are warned. Let's say I wanted to rent Treasure Planet. But I'm very impatient, and don't want to dish out 5 dollars for a rental movie. So I look at reviews. Not enough. I search for (ILLEGAL) downloads of the entire movie. No luck. So guess what? I find as many music videos done by the fans, and watch them all. No money needed, no basic story intro, just all of it in a nutshell with music videos. That's how I look at it. I don't mean to offend anyone. Personally I wouldn't even PUT music videos on youtube unless the movie is like 10 years old or something. But even then I'd rather show it to my friends or show the community rather than a site where EVERYONE sees it. Anyways, it's up to you what you want to do. If you really want people to see your music videos, try talking to Niki later and see if he minds hosting them privately (when he gets bbear.org up again >_<) or just send them to your friends. Otherwise, you risk deletion like Disny did. People, I looked up Brother Bear 2 OST on Google, to see if I could find a list of the tracks and also some lyrics, but I got a site where there was ENTIRE downloads of the movies. It makes me mad; I should just report them, because of THEM we can't do our little music videos without disruption.

I'll be willing to bet that one's gone too. exactly, i responded to the last video he put up about the videos probably being removed. I didnt expect disney to go and make them remove "all" brother bear videos that deal even with animation though, but its what they are doing to make sure no one gets away with anything illegal. Even though they cant stop it 100% youtube still inst the place because in their rules they can remove anything at the owners request. I guess there is no reason for me to make a BB AMV now since i couldnt share it with anyone..oh well and yes im 18...and i luuuuuurve this movie corny...maybe maybe not but Disney has some power behind there movies...weeeeeeeee
