OOC: Kind of like Spectrum has done with his side quest. I’m going to put these posts into a separate topic so that it won’t get mixed into the LWK one. It continues from where I left off in my previous post in the role play. I'll be working on it and adding to it while we're on hibernation break. I’ll be back to the regular role play as soon as winter hibernation is over.
BIC: “It’s time to wake up! You’re going with me so that I can show you how I catch seals.”
Nanuk was awake, waiting for us to get up.
“zzz…hmm?...*Yaaawwwnnn*…ugh…what time is it? It’s still dark out!”
It was too early for this. But I had to deal with it. He was doing us a favor by letting us stay in his place.
“It’s better to take advantage of the full day. I also like to catch the view of the rising sun in the morning. Wake your brother up so we can get going.”
I went over and nudged Sioul awake.
“zzz…wha?…Aww, not now Truttle. Just give me a few more hours.”
“Come on Sioul. Nanuk told us that we were going to get up early today. We have to adjust to his conditions so you’re going to have to wake up. Come on.”
I picked him up to his feet. He wavered for a moment then slowly padded out the cave entrance with a scornful expression on his face that could’ve melted the snow. I followed suit, I couldn’t deny that I felt the same way as he did. I don’t usually wake up this early so I was just as tired. I could barely keep my eyes open. I trudged my way passed Nanuk towards the entrance of the cave when, *Bonk*!
“Ow!”
“That’s the wall Truttle. Make sure to keep your eyes open. The entrance is that way.”
“Right. I’ll remember that next time. *Grumble, grumble*”
We made our way out and followed Nanuk. To an ocean where the water was frozen at the shore with big chunks of ice floating on the water. We walked out on the ice and saw some holes in the ice.
“We wait by these holes. Sometimes seals will come up for air. When they do, that’s when we get them.”
We waited for quite a while, the experience was new and enlightening, but it was so boring. Who knew polar bears we’re one of the most patient animals. At least the northern lights were there for me to gaze at. We were there till the sun rise. It cast an orange glow upon the horizon that was always a marvel to behold. We followed this routine for quite a while. ___
One day it was early noon. Me and Sioul were looking down a slope from a mountain. We had dragged up a small log up the mountain and set it up at the foot of an incline.
“You ready Sioul?”
“Yeah! Let’s go!”
“Alright, here we go! Yeeeaaahhh!”
I kicked off the incline. We were both riding the log down the base of the mountain. The wind whip passed our faces as gained speed.
“How are we supposed to stop Truttle!”
“I made a huge pile of snow to catch us at the base of the mountain!”
“What if it doesn’t work! We’re going really fast!”
“Umm…”
We were coming to the foot of the mountain very quickly and gaining speed.
“Well, we’re about to find out! Woooaaahhh!!!” *CHOOM!!!*
The snow exploded in all directions, then rained down all over the place. I pop my head out of the snow and looked around to see if Sioul was alright.
*Shuff* “Wooooo! That was awesome! Hey Sioul! You alive?!”
*Shuff* “Hah! Yeah! We have to do that again!”
“Heh heh! Okay, maybe one more time.”

OOC: I noticed in my previous post that I said that I wasn’t going to be back until after Spring. Well that was one of the several mistakes that I make that I’m sure you’re all used to seeing me do by now. Well what I meant to say was that I’ll be back after winter hibernation. When spring starts. Hopefully I’ll be able to post often so as to not get left behind. Well anyway I hope you enjoy this Looooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnng story that I just put up. Consider yourselves lucky. It might have been longer, but my computer deleted my previous work from this post, so I had to start over. Stupid computer!
BIC: As the two bear brothers spend their time away playing, they are unaware of the watchful eyes of a vengeful enemy. Aok and his brothers had been spying on them for quite a while.
"Look at them! All happy and cheerful. They'll pay for going against me! Is the plan all set?”
"Yeah Aok we’re ready to go."
"Alright then let’s do it."
(Back to Truttle and Sioul)
The days had been getting warmer. Spring would almost be upon us. We had spent most of our winter being trained by Nanuk on how to hunt and forage for food. He also trained us to fight and be able to defend ourselves against tougher opponents. So we grew a little stronger and wiser. I was eagerly anticipating when we would return to our friends back at the salmon run. I couldn’t wait to tell them all about our adventures. After all our fun today we spent most of the day lazily lounging around.
"Phew! It feels good to finally be able to relax and get some time to ourselves. Huh Sioul?”
"Yeah I was getting tired of Nanuk always bossing us around.”
"Hey, at least we were able to learn how to survive out here in the Winter. He also taught us some fighting skills and thanks to his training we were able to learn some of his techniques"
“Yeah, I guess. Hey! I learned some moves that I've been dieing to try out on you. How about we practice our new moves? Wanna wrestle?”
“Do you think you’re up to it?”
“Yeah! Bring it on!”
"I'll take you down with my clothesline!"
"Not if I counter with my signature 'Spear'! ORA!"
"OOOF! Urgh! Good one! Try my ankle leglock!"
"AAAGH! No fair!”
Elsewhere, Aok and his brothers were further advancing their scheme. They were discussing a deal with a male adult grizzly bear.
"Do we have a deal?"
"Where is my son!?"
"Hold it! If you ever want to see your son alive then you do what we told you and you'll get your cub back, safe and sound. If you don't try anything stupid then your son will be safe.
"You bastard!...Do you promise he'll be safe?!"
"You have my word. Besides you don't have much of a choice. Do we have a deal?"
"Fine! I'll do whatever you want!"
"Good. Now get going."
The grizzly left and the wolves continued to discuss Aoks plan .
"Okay, Pok you will go back to the cave where we left the cub , me and Rok will go through with our part of the plan. We split them up and go after the younger brother. Understood?"
"Yes."
"Good. Then let’s go."
The wolves left, but fortunately Nanuk had noticed Aok spying on Truttle and Sioul in the morning and had since kept a close eye on him.
"I can't believe this! I'd better get that cub back or Truttle's going to have a lot of trouble to deal with.”
Nanuk chased after Pok, staying concealed so not to be spotted.

(Back to Truttle and Sioul)
"Phew! Your getting tough there Sioul! Pretty soon you may even be tougher than me or dad. But you’ll never be able to defeat my stunner!"
"Yeah, that move is simply stunning! Ha ha ha!"
"Heh heh. Yeah. Hey. How about we go look for something to eat?"
"Okay let’s go."
We were walking along through the woods when a grizzly bear walked out from behind some trees and blocked our path in front us. He caught me by surprise. He had a stern look upon his face but I figured that he wasn't going to be any kind of opposition, so I tried to make my way around him.
"Um, excuse us."
As soon as I began to go by him I heard him speak.
"Please forgive me."
"What?...Aagh!"
The grizzly hit me in my side and knocked me over, then pinned my shoulders to the ground. Sioul rushed over to try to help me but stopped short when he saw Aok, Rok and two more wolves show up.
"Ah how sweet. This must be your little brother."
"Aok! What’s going on?!"
"I'm paying you back for the grievance you made me suffer from our previous meeting. I wanted get at you, but I think It will be much more satisfying to watch you suffer from the loss of your brother. Wouldn't you say?"
"Leave him alone!"
"Get him!"
"Sioul!!! Run!!!"
I Saw sioul run off into the forest and the wolves give chase. I put up a struggle to try to get free of the grizzly.
"What are you doing?! Can't you see my brother is in danger? Get off of me!"
"I can't! If I don't do as they say then they'll hurt my son."
I knew Aok had done something to make this so difficult. But my concern was for Sioul's saftey. I didn't have much time. I had to help him. I remembered Nanuks training for this kind of situation. I brought up my arms under his and knocked them away. I grabbed his head around my arms and, using my momentum, twisted him over on his back. But he was quick to counter and flipped my back over. I brought my legs up underneath him and kicked him off sending him flying to the ground. We both got up and glared at each other while catching our breaths but I didn't have the time to wait around. We both reared up on our hind legs and collided into each other, fighting furiously, roaring, biting, and hitting each other with our paws. With the help of Nanuks training I was able to hold my ground but I was holding back my attacks. This guy was in the same situations as I was and I didn't want to hurt him. But this fight wouldn't be able to last long.

(Back to Nanuk)
I chased after Pok in order to follow him to where they had the cub. He led me to a cave nearby. He went inside while I waited at the entrance. I could hear him talking inside.
"Are you comfortable little cub?"
"Who are you? Why did you bring me here? Where is my daddy? I want my daddy! Waaahh!"
"Shut up! I hate the annoying wailing of spoiled little brats! You’re here as a hostage. So that we can get back at that stupid bear that invaded our territory. We’re going to teach him a lesson he’ll never forget. So we’re using your father to take care of him while my big brother takes care of his younger brother. That will teach him never to mess with us."
I just about heard enough of this. I charged in and tackled Pok, bashing him into the cave wall. He looked up at me terrified as I loomed over him.
"Nanuk! This isn't what it looks like! It wasn’t my idea! Aok planned this all out! It’s his fault!”
"You and your coward of a brother are despicable beyond comparison. You will leave this forest from this day forward. I will see to it that you and your brothers are banded from your pack. Leave immediately!"
"Yes! Of course! Right away!"
I roared at him and he yelp as he ran out of the cave and off deep into the woods. I turned back to the cub and patted him gently on the head.
“Are you alright there young cub?”
“Yes sir. Thank you for rescuing me Mr. Nanuk.”
“No problem son. Let’s get you back to your father.”
With the cub on my back I rushed back as quickly as I could, hoping that I wasn’t too late. When I arrived Truttle and the cub’s father were fighting each other.
“Stop! Stop fighting! I found your son!”
I managed to break up the fight.
“Oh thank you for rescuing my son Nanuk! I don’t know how I’ll ever repay you!”
“Don’t worry about it. It won’t be necessary. I just wanted to help. You’d better take you’re son home.”
“Thank you again Nanuk!”
The grizzly left with his son. I went to check on Truttle.
“Are you okay Truttle?”
“Yeah, just a few cuts and bruises, but they went after Sioul. We have to go help him! I know which direction they went in. We have to hurry! Follow me!”
(Back to Sioul)
I ran through the woods as fast as I could. I managed to increase the distance between us, but the wolves were close on my tail. There was a mountain up ahead. If I climbed it I might be able to lose them. I climbed over the ledge and looked down to see if they followed me. Sure enough there they were, at the foot of the mountain starting their climb. I grabbed some snow and flung a few snow balls at them, making the two other wolves trip over themselves and slip down the mountain. Aok and Rok were too near the top so I got up and continued to run. I reached the end of the path, with just the edge of a cliff. On the side there was a cave that I might be able to hide in. I went in and tried to hide myself behind a bolder.
“I think he entered this cave. Find him.”
“Uh oh”
“There he is! Get him!”
They slowly closed in on me, backing me up to the wall. I prepared myself to fight. When they were close enough I swung my paw and smacked Rok in the face. Sending him reeling. Aok lunged at me and bit down on my shoulder.
“Aaaagh!!!”
I threw him off but now they were both up and coming right back at me. I wouldn’t give up but I didn’t think I would be able to win this fight. They were about attack when I suddenly noticed a figure appear out from behind the other side of the bolder I was hiding behind. It made a loud tremendous roar and swung a paw that sent Rok flying toward the wall with a loud *crack*! It was Truttle! And Nanuk came in right behind him!

(Back to Truttle) I followed the path that Sioul took. I used his tracks to help guide me. They led to a mountain which showed them leading up. Two wolves were waking up from unconsciousness. “Uh oh! It’s Nanuk and the big brother! Lets get out of here!”
The wolves ran off. We climbed up the mountain and found Sioul’s tracks which led to a cave. Inside the cave we could hear a struggle going on. We ran in and saw Aok and Rok attacking Sioul. I became infuriated and roared out my rage. I swung and sent Rok flying into the wall. I stalked menacingly towards Aok backing him up against the wall. Aok was trembling with fear. I pressed my paw against his throat. Squeezing tightly. “Truttle!...Urchk…Please…have mercy!...Guhchk…It was…only a joke!...ugchk…We didn't…uhgch…mean any harm...gaghch…you’re…choking…me…Please…don't…kill…me!" I released my grip on his throat and glared into his face. “I should hurt you for what you did to me and my brother. But instead I’m going to show you mercy.”
“Oh thank you! I’ll make it up to you! Just name it.”
“Run away Aok . Run away and never return.” (OOC: Isn’t this quote from the Lion King? ) “Of course, as you wish.”
Aok left the cave. I went to Sioul to see how much injury he suffered. “Are you okay Sioul?”
“I just hurt my shoulder, but I’ll be alright.”
“I’m glad you’re okay. Let’s head back to the den. I’m hurt and I’m tired. I just want to get some rest.”
“Yeah, me too. What a crazy day. Let’s just go home.” We went back and tended to our wounds. Winter would almost be over and Spring would be here soon. We didn’t want to go back with injuries. After today we never heard from Aok or his brothers again.

OOC: Okay. I think I resolved the problem with my computer. I just hope it doesn’t happen again. Anyway, here’s another chapter in my adventure up north with my brother. I’ll be giving a bit of spotlight for my brother in this one. Before you start I want to say that I borrowed a few ideas here and there, but I hope no one minds. Enjoy! Oh and since it is kind of long it has to be chopped up into several posts. BIC: Truttle and I had gone outside to enjoy the snow while we waited for spring. The ground was covered with snow that sparkled in the late morning sun. A few gray clouds were slowly drifting our way from the north, but most of the sky was still bright blue, and the gentle waves of snow that covered the ground were sparkling and beautiful. "Incoming!" He didn't understand me in time. A snowball hit him hard on the shoulder. He looked up to see me laughing. "Good packing snow!" I shouted. "Let's see about that!" He said, scooping up a pawful of snow. It was good packing snow. Nice and wet. He heaved a snowball at me but not hard enough. It plopped into the snow at me feet. I had better aim. I caught him right in the chest. I made a very satisfying plopping sound as it hit. Truttle, alway the clown, fell over backward into the snow. This was my cue to really let him have it. In seconds we were bombarding each other with snowballs. We were making and tossing them too quickly to be accurate. But about one in five hit it's targer. I busily stockpiled snowballs, stacking them up in front of me. Truttle tossed his wildly, not even bothering to pack them tightly enough to travel far. Half the snow blew back in his face. "Bull's-eye!" I hit Truttle right in the forehead with a beauty. "OW! Hey no rocks!" He cried, rubbing his forehead, which was bright red through the fur. "That wasn't a rock. I just have a powereful throw! You should of seen how I dealt with those wolves with my assault of snowballs." We were laughing and having a great time when I noticed a snowflake land on my nose. "Hey Truttle! I think it's going to start snowing soon. Why don't we start to head back?" "What?! Do you give up?! Then I win!" Truttle heaved on last snowball at me. It only missed me by about three feet. "You win?! How?! By taking the most hits?!" I picked up a pawful of snow and shoved it into his face. We started to wrestle around, and he went sliding onto his back into a deep snowdrift. "Okay, okay! It's a tie!" He said, rolling out of the way as I tried to cover him with an armload of snow. "Hey, come on. Let's get going. Look---it's getting ready to snow again." I said. We both looked up. Heavy-looking dark clouds had completely covered the blue sky. I suddenly realized I was cold and wet. My cheeks were sore. I tried to feel my nose with my paw, but I couldn't feel anything. The snow had clung to our fur. Truttle came up to me with a sly grin on his face, then shook off all the snow in front me, sending snow flying into my face. He ran off laughing as I chased after him.

The sky was really dark now. The wind seemed to grow colder as it blew the snow in our faces. We were walking side by side, up a low, sloping hill along a wide path through the trees. The snow was up to the tops of our knees, and in drifts it was even higher. It took a long time to get up the hill. We didn't mind the snow, the cold, or the swirling winds. We just ignored it.
"Do you see anything Truttle?"
"I see the snow. Heh heh." He said, laughing at his own joke.
"Are we lost?!"
"We're not lost! We're just a bit misplaced."
"Well, which way is it then?"
"Um…I think it's that way." He said pointing his paw in a random direction.
"You think, or you know?"
"Uh, that way?" He said pointing in another direction.
"We are lost! You were never good with directions. I don't even know how you managed to find your way to the salmon run."
"I was lost then too. If it weren't for my friends, then I may have never found it. Lets just keep going. I'm sure we'll notice something familiar on the way."
We kept going as the sky darkened. The snow continued to fall, gigantic flakes swirling in all directions, swept by the powerful winds. I could see nothing but tall pine trees now. Nothing but white-cloaked pines seeming to stretch forever.
"I guess I was wrong about this path." Truttle said, looking around with his paw cupped over his eyes to cut down the glare.
"At least we're not lost in the mountains." I said, trying hard to look on the bright side.
"But we're nowhere!" Truttle protested. "No where!"
"Wait a minute!" I cried. My sudden excitement startled him.
"There's a lake up ahead! I remember passing a frozen lake earlier when we came over here. Let's just cross the ice and get to the other side."
"I don't think that would be such a good idea."
"Come on! What could possibly go wrong? Look the waters frozen. Let's go!"
"Wait! Stop!"
I ran across the lake, ignoring Truttle's warning. I had ran across the lake with the shore of the lake just several yards ahead of me. Truttle was running a few feet behind me. In all the excitement, I decided to play a trick on Truttle. I dodged to one side, ducking my head, as Truttle passed by trying to grab me. He missed me and kept moving. He was going so fast, I didn't think he could stop himself. He was slipping, sliding, struggling to keep his balance, but tripped and crashed down hard on the ice. I heard the ice crack under him and heard it begin to shatter. I felt my heart leap. My breath caught in my throat.
"Sioul! Help!"
He reached a paw toward me. I edged forward, listening for the ice to crack again. Little by little. I was almost there. Just a bit more.
"Truttle!"
I reached my paw out, leaning forward, stretching as far as I could. Could I get to him before the ice broke? I was only a few feet from him now. And then only a foot away. Lying down, I stretched, stretched toward him---stretched....

And then suddenly the ice cracked loudly. Like bones breaking. The cracking noise was so loud, like someone tearing apart the earth. Then Truttle screamed. I'll never forget the look of horror on his face. His mouth was open wide. His frightened eyes staring straight into mine. "Sioul!" I think I heard him call name. Then he dropped through the ice. It didn't look as if he were falling. He went down so fast, it looked as if he were being sucked down. I stood there, watching, unable to move, to do anything. I saw his horrified face. The expression didn't change as it disappeared into the dark water. His paws, held high above his head, vanished last. "Truttle! Truttle!" I stood there waiting for Truttle to pop back up but a loud crack startled me.The ice beneath my feet. It was starting to break up. I suddenly realized that I was about to be sucked down under the ice like Truttle. The shore was so close, but the ice in front of me was already broken. The only way was to head back. I took a careful step back. I couldn't decide whether to work my way slowly step by step or to run as fast as I could and hope that I could outrun the shattering ice. I heard another crack, nearby. Water sprung up and splashed my legs. I tried to block Truttle's horrified face from my mind. But it refused to go away. I saw his face, saw his paw reach for mine, heard his terrified scream. Stop thinking Sioul. I told myself. Just get back to shore. I looked to the shore, so close yet so far away. There was a polar bear yelling at me at the edge of the shore. He seemed about my size and age. "Run! It's going to give away!" He shouted. He held his arms out to me. The cracking suddenly sounded like thunder, the kind of thunder that starts quietly in the distance and then becomes a roar as it moves toward you. I didn't turn back to see how close the open water was to me. I followed his advice. I started to run. I was almost there, just a few yards from his outstretched arms. Another crack again, like thunder. I could feel the ice breaking up. I'm not going to make it. I'm not going to make it. I am going to make it! I reached forward and grabbed his paws. He pulled me onto land just as I felt the entire section beneath my feet give way. I looked back and saw chunks of ice bobbing and swaying in the water. I scanned the lake to see if I could find Truttle, but I could see through the thick snow fall. It all took so long to filter into my brain. As if I were in slow motion. And I didn't even realize I was screaming, screaming at he top of my lungs, until the polar bear stepped over and put his arm around me. "What's wrong?" "He's dead! It's all my fault that he's dead!" "Who's dead?" "My brother! He's dead because of me! I didn't mean for it to happen! It was an accident! We were lost and couldn't find our way home! We ran through the ice but he fell through the ice and I didn't see him resurface! I never listen to his advice! I'm always doing as I please not worrying about the consequences, and now I'm paying the ultimate price!" He was still holding on to me. I was grateful he was there. I placed my head on his shoulder and cried out my sorrow. "Hey, hey! It'll be alright. That water isn't so bad. I'm sure your brother made it out alright. You just couldn't see it because you were running from the breaking ice. We can look for your brother later if you'd like. There's a snow storm heading our way right now. My parents den is right over there. I'm sure they wouldn't mind letting you stay while we wait for the storm to pass. Come on don't lose hope." "Alright." I said wiping the tears from my eyes. "By the way. My name's Lars. What's your name?" "Sioul." "Okay Sioul. I'm sure we'll find your brother. Don't worry." We headed off to his den and he led me inside. "Mom, Dad!" "What is it Lars?" His father replied. "I met a friend who needs a place to stay while we wait out the storm. Can he stay? Please?" "I suppose it'll be alright." "Yaay! This is great! Now I have a new friend!" He looked at me with a smile and began to introduce his parents. "This is my dad. His name is Mahr." He said pointing at his dad. "This is my mom. Her name is Rena." He said pointing to his mom. I bowed my head in respect and introduced myself. "My name is Sioul. Thank you so much for your hospitality." "Don't worry about it. Everyone is very hospitable in these parts. We wouldn't turn you away in a storm like this. Just make yourself at home." "Thank you again." "Let's get some rest while we wait for the storm to pass." The polar bears huddled together to fall asleep. I just laid down and thought about Truttle. I was worried that he hadn't made it out of the water. I hope he was still alive. OOC: Still working on it. More to come.

OOC: Regardless of all my allegations. My computer still makes me look the fool. I can do a fine job of that myself. I’m pretty good at it. Anyway, I have been out of commission for more than half a month. I was only able post from different computer. So I couldn’t post frequently. I know I claimed that I had fixed the problem but I was wrong again. I could explain what happened in full detail but that would take a story that would be longer than the Life with Koda one. Well this time I hope it won’t be awhile before this happens again. Now I have a lot of catching up to do. BIC: ---Truttle--- I fell through the ice. I was trying to rise back to the surface but in all my panic I became disoriented and had lost the hole that I fell through. I was stuck under the ice. *Thoom thoom thoom* My heart was racing. My head was thrumming. And my lungs were straining for air. That squeezing, burning sensation was all too familiar. I didn’t want to ever have to go through that again. I tried banging on the ice but it was too thick and it was too difficult to hit the ice from under water. “*Gurgle, gurgle*”
“<Where’s the hole?! I can’t find the hole!! I can’t believe this is going to happen to me again!! I don’t want to drown!!!>”
I frantically continued to bang on the ice but I wasn’t making any progress. I was beginning to lose the struggle. I wouldn’t be able to hold my breath much longer. I felt like I was beginning to become delirious. My head was beginning to feel light. Did I see a pair of beautiful emerald, yellowish-green eyes, looking at me through the ice? I guess it was the lack of air and the freezing water. The last thing I remembered was a loud exploding crashing sound before everything went black. ... “What is that?”
…
“I can hear a beautiful melody.” …
“It’s so beautiful and heavenly.” …
I see a figure surrounded by a vibrant light. Her voice is so beautiful and heavenly. Is she an angel? I went to her and she embraced me in her arms. Then I awoke. … “Huh...? W-where am I?”
I looked up to see a beautiful pair of emerald, yellowish-green eyes glancing back down at me. I was lying down on my back. My head in the lap of a very pretty, Orangish brown, female bear. She was tousling the fur on my head. “Oh! You’re awake!”
“Uh w-what are you do-… W-who are-…W-what did I-…?”
“Shhh. You should save your energy. You were in the freezing water. Try to relax. I just wanted to take a moment and look at your face. I can take as much time as I need, yes?”
“Uhh…” “Looking at your face really helps put me at ease.”
“…”
“Is something wrong?”
“Uh…um…Huh?! Um…no…nothing is…um…what happened? H-how did I end up here?”
“I rescued you from the frozen lake. I knocked a tree over onto the ice and brought you to my cave.”
“Thank you so much. I thought I was a goner back there. I don’t know how to repay you. I owe you my deepest gratitude.”
“Oh no… Please…You don’t have to owe me for anything. I’m just glad you made it.”
“Was that you I heard singing?” “Yes. I was singing a song my mother thought me. She told me that it’s a song that she would sing to the great spirits. I prayed to them in hopes that you would come back alive. I also sing it to spread good spirit and hope, so we will have good things happen.”
“That’s a very lovely song. You have a very beautiful voice.”
“Thank you. Now get some rest. There’s a storm heading this way. We won’t be able to leave until it passes.”
“Um… Can I ask? ...What’s your name?”
“Cynthia. It means the moon personified.”
“Cynthia. That’s a lovely name. My name’s Truttle.”
“Thank you. You have a nice name too. It’s nice to meet you Truttle.”
She went back to singing as the wind of the storm blew outside. Her singing gave it a harmonic feeling which made my soul feel at ease. (OOC: This post was inspired by this song. truttle.bbear.org/03%20A%20Deus.mp3This is the link to the song Cynthia sings. Its kind of a big file but the song is very nice.

---Sioul---
After the storm had passed, I went outside with Lars to look for my brother. A big orange sun was just coming up behind us. It made the snow sparkle like gold. Our shadows were long and bright blue. The wind had died down. The whole world looked bright and clean. But I was too worried to enjoy the beauty of the morning. I just wanted to find Truttle.
“So Sioul, where do you think your brother might be?”
“I don’t know. Let’s look around the area. Maybe we can find some sort of trace.”
“Well, the storm would have covered any tracks.”
“I’m sure that we’ll find him. We just have to keep trying.”
“Well we shouldn’t stress ourselves. We have lots of time. We haven’t eaten anything yet. Let’s get some thing to eat for breakfast. We can something while we keep looking for your brother.”
Lars was trying to cheer me up but I felt too miserable to eat. I couldn’t help but feel that losing Truttle was my fault. But he was right. I decided to try and keep my cool. We went to try and get some breakfast. We found a flowing river that wasn’t frozen due to the current. We managed to catch some fish that swam by until we had gotten our fill.
“Hey Sioul! I have an idea.”
“Hmm, what is it?”
“Okay, listen up…”
Lars had gathered a few of his friends. He had asked them to help us search for Truttle, but it only took a while before it all turned into a game.
“In the name of the Sioul secret southern super soldier stealth squad liberation front! We shall eradicate the rebel regime and reclaim our base!”
“Don’t you think you went overboard with the title Lars?! And why is it named after ME?!”
“Because you’re our captain!”
“I don’t believe this.“
“Captain, we’ve seized all communications! Food and water supplies have been cut!
“Are you kidding me?! What communications?! There are four on that team and only about three in ours. They’ve also barricaded us in!”
“What are your orders mon capitan?!”
“*Sigh* I guess I’ll play along then. *Ahem* At all costs, control of the base must be seized back from the tyrannical clutches of the current leader of the rebel regime! We have to bring out our trump card!”
“Trump card?”
“My mach turbo snowball toss. We’ll break thru the barricade and regroup to prepare for another attack.”
“Aye aye, captain!”
“The enemy’s center of operations is within sight! Onward to victory!! CHARGE!!" (I was really getting into this.)

---Truttle---
As soon as the storm had passed Cynthia offered to give me a tour of the forest. Cynthia had lived in this forest a lot longer than I have. So she could help me get better acquainted to it and to her. I eagerly accepted.
“You’re not from around here, are you?”
“No. I’m from way down South.”
“Down South? How’d you get way up here?”
I explained the whole ordeal of my journey to her to the best of my ability.
“Sounds like a real experience. What made you leave home?”
“Well, my parents thought I might have a better life up here,…to tell you the truth, I think my parents are hoping that I’ll find a girlfriend or something. They were always insistent on that. (Doh! I can’t believe I told her that!)”
“I shouldn’t think you’d have much trouble with that, you’re kind of cute.” She said with a smile. I must have blushed so hard my face must have been as red as an apple.
“R-really?!”
“uh-huh.”
“……”
“So how do you like it up here?” She giggled as she asked.
“…Oh! I love it! The different flora and fauna. The fresh cool breezes, the snow, especially the snow, all the free time, not having to worry about humans…It’s heaven!”
“You don’t have any free time or snow?”
I certainly didn’t-any more than I had to get to know bears as pretty and sweet as her.
“Well I’ve been a long ways. I’ve been traveling a lot and having to deal with humans all the time. It’s also a little warmer where I come from so I haven’t seen much snow.”
“So you like the snow?”
“Oh yeah! Me and my little brother like to play in it all the time!... Ah! My brother! I completely forgot about him! He’s probably worried about me! I have to find him!”
“Your brother?”
“Yeah, I came here with him. I should go look for him.”
“Let me help you look for him.”
“Okay, that would help a lot. Thanks”
Cynthia and I walked through the woods while we looked for my brother. We continued to chat along the way.
“Where are you staying at Truttle?”
“Well my dad had told me of an old friend of his. His name is Nanuk. He was willing to let me stay at his place while we waited out the Winter.”
“Nanuk! I know of Nanuk from stories. Who is your dad to have been in close terms with Nanuk?”
“Well his name is Nukilik. He knew Nanuk from a while back.”
”Ah! Nukilik!? Oh my goodness! You’re the son of Nukilik?! I don’t believe this! Nukilik is a legend in these parts. There’s not a single bear around these woods that doesn’t know about the tales of Nukilik and Nanuk. Oh you have to tell me all about him!”
Oh boy, I never figured I’d be put under the spotlight of my father’s reputation. He told me his stories about his past, but growing up with him seemed a lot different. He always seemed so carefree and happy. Now I’m being looked at like some sort of celebrity. I was completely nervous. I didn’t want to give her a bad impression. How would I be able to match up to her expectations of me? Any trip up and she’d probably think that I was such a loser, that she shouldn’t even bother to give the time of day. I tried to tell her about my dad and his adventures as best as best as I could. Perhaps with a bit of embellishment to make it seem more interesting.
“Wow! That is so cool! After we find your brother, could you come by to visit ever once and a while so that you can share more of your father’s stories with me?”
“Uh, sure!”
This was going off better than I figured. This wouldn’t be too bad. And I would also get to visit her a lot.
We began to hear the shouts and laughter of a wild game. It was Sioul! I finally found him! He had found some friends and seemed to be having a blast. Of all the bears under the woods, the noisiest and most rambunctious were probably Sioul and his friends. I bet he’ll be glad to see me again.

OOC: I don’t want to upset anyone by this Out Of Character post. I just wanted to avoid any problems that might occur from a random guest who might want to cause trouble. I’ve said this before but I just want to state that some ideas in these posts aren’t completely original. I sometimes run out of ideas and pick something up from somewhere. So if you notice something similar to something you’ve probably seen before, then please don’t get upset and claim that I might have stolen it and infringed upon someone else. I try to be as original as I can but sometimes the story might have something that has already been done. Another thing I want to admit is that I’m sure that on several occasions I’ve been wrong on my geography when posting about the animals, plants, and weather in the lands that I’ve been using. I know It’s stupid to mention this since the story is just fiction but I just wanted to get it off my chest that I will make a lot of mistakes and I wouldn’t mind if someone pointed out a mistake or two. It helps me learn. Anyway don’t mind me. I’ll shut up now. (BIC: ) I sneaked up on Sioul while he was distracted. He was standing under a tree that had snow hanging on the branches. I approached behind the tree. I checked his position and aligned it with the snow. Then with a good shove against the tree, brought a huge pile of snow to fall down on top of him. When I saw his expression as the snow came crashing down on him, I rolled over laughing. "Ha ha ha ha ha!" He poked his head out of the pile of snow and looked around bewildered. "Hey! Who did that!" "Hee hee hee! Ahh that expression was priceless! Hey Sioul. How you been?" "Ah!...Ah ha ha ha! Truttle! Truttle! You're alright!"" He climbed out of the snow and charged into me. "Here we go again. Ooof! Urgh!" He tackled me to the ground and started pulling at my ear with his teeth. "Truttle! You jerk! You had me worried about you! What happened? Where have you been?" "Ow. Heheh! Sorry about making you worry Sioul. I was helped by Cynthia." Cynthia then came over. "How sweet! It's so good to see how you and your brother get along so well. That's a good thing to see this day and age." Sioul looked up at Cynthia. "Who is she?" "This is Cynthia. Cynthia. This is my brother Sioul." "Hello Sioul. I'm happy to finally get to meet you." "Hello Miss Cynthia. Thank you for helping my brother." "You're welcome. I was happy to help.” The sky was beginning to darken. “I think I’m going to head home now.” She said. “Allow me to take you there.”
We walked her back to her den as the day was coming to an end. Then we said farewell. "Good night, Truttle. Good night Sioul." "Good night, Cynthia." "Good night miss Cynthia." Cynthia smiled and then entered her den. “Okay Sioul. Let's go home. I know the way now." "Alright. I'm bushed." When we reached the den, Nanuk was already asleep. That was good. We didn't want to have to explain our absence at the moment. We just went to sleep.
