"Oh, uh, he's long gone," Kirchy tells him.

"Really?" chuckles Vetus. The Owls cannot help but notice the glaring eyes of his pride not far enough away in the distance for comfort. "Where did he go?"

"Well, I'm not really sure," Kirchy admits. "but why would I tell you?"

Vetus chuckles lightly. "You're smart for a little cub. No matter- I'll get him eventually." Suddenly, a boom of thunder, and the Cave Lions have disappeared.
"Okay... who votes we move now?" asks Kojak slowly.

"I do!" Sash exclaims as she raises her paw.

"let's go!" agrees Specter, unnerved by the cat himself.
Kojak and Nyctea join him in flight. "KIRCHY SASH COME ON!!" they cry.

Kirchy and Sash hurry and run after them.

Soaring on their sient wings, the Owls leads Kirchy and Sash to a dead oak. "There's a hollow about thrity feet up," says Nyctea, hovering with her brother above their friends. "Mind if we carry we you up?"

OOC: Whoops! I kind forgot about this RP.
BIC: "Not at all!" Kirchy replies for the both of them.

Kojak and Nyctea swoop down and grab Sash in their talons (Kojak holding her shoulders, Nyctea her hips) and take flight; only to stagger violently. For Snowy Owls, despite their size, weigh only four pounds.
"How-did-you-hold-up-Koni-when-he-was-a-human?!?" pants Nyctea, beating her wings as hard as they can.
Kojak's tired face twists in a smile. "Er... it's amazing what one can do when one is entertaining thoughts of bloodshed."
Sighing, Specter latches his feathery talons around Sash's ribs and jopins in the struggle. Together the three get her into the hole. "Now for Kirchy," pants Kojak.
---
Forty minutes have passed since the Owls first spotted the tree and getting all of the creatures into the cramped hollow.
Although Snowy are mainly diurnal, the task of lifting the two youths has exhausted the three white birds. Unable to close their eyes open, the raptors drift into a deep, calm sleep.

Sash turned around in a cricle a few times and lay down.
"Why do you do that?" Kirchy asked.
But before she could answer, Sash had already fallen asleep. Kirchy shrugged and lay down as well.

The midnight moon thrusts its pallid beams through the hole in tree. As if curious, the beams gently touch every beast inside of the hollow: the red-and-yellow hide of Kirchy, the brown pelt of Kirchy, the black-banded ivory feathers of Kojak and Nyctea- and the hard mustrad-yellow eyes of Specter.
It was his hunger that awoke him for his healing sleep; for Specter alone had not feed on the Salmon that day. Grinding his beak, Specter screws his eyes shut, tying to sleep.
A sudden squeal awakens him, the well-known squeal of a lemming in pain. Startled, the scrawny raptor floats down to the earth.
The raptor freezes with good reason. For not two feet away lays Vetus, his hind legs under him. Clasped between his cruel talons Specter sees the red-and-black squirming pelt of a lemming.
"Nos mos narro Latin. Ut via canis mos non audite nos. (We will speak in Latin. That way the dog won't hear us)," commands Vetus.
"Vetus, quis operor vos volo? (Vetus, what do you want?)" barks the Owl. (Suprisingly, he, like the Cave Lion, understood Latin).
"Phasmatis, meus amicus (Specter, my friend)," purrs the Lion. "Sic ut cuspis! Dico mihi , quare es vos succurro illa fossor reperio Koni? (So to the point! Tell me, why are you helping these fools find Koni.)"
"Vos fossor! (You fool!)," hisses Spector. "Quis planto vos reputo EGO would volo iuvo lemma servo ut everto?!? (What makes you think I would want to help them save that demon?!?)"
"Oh?" asks Vetus, a bemused grin on his face. He impales the rodent slightly more, making it squeal with fresh pain. "Tunc quis es vos effectus? (Then what are you doing?)"
"Ego sum plumbum lemma ut Turgor (I'm leading them to Turgor)," sneers Specter. "Is mos attero everto gero. (He will destroy the demon bear)."
"Turgor?" scoffs Vetus.
"Is est of haud sollicitudo vobis! (It is of no concern to you!)" Specter snaps.
"Forsitan (Perhaps)," agrees Vetus. "Tamen Volo everto gero quoque. Quidne suo mihi? (But I want the demon bear too. Why not join me?)"
This an unexpected offer. To give himself time to think, Specter stares down at the lemming.
"Vos es ieiunium , es vos non? (You're hungry, aren't you?)" asks Vetus, looking down at the little beast. By now the black fur on the feline's paws is saturated with blood from the lemming's struggles. "Utor is. Is est a donum me. (Enjoy it. It's a gift from me)." Vetus suddenly releases the rodent. "Meditatus meus dedi (Consider my offer)." With a clap of thunder, the lion is gone.
Specter crushes the wounded lemming's skull, his mind heavy with thoguth. Carefully he rips out every hair and bone, swallowing only the flesh. That acocmplished, he soars back into the hollow and falls asleep.
---
Birds sing gratefully as the fiery red sun conquers darkness once again. "Wake up!" she yawns. "Time to find Koni!"

"What?" Sash asked, yawning. "Oh, Koni. Right."
Kirchy had woken as well. "Let's go," she agreed, standing up on all fours.

Kojak extends an ivory wing in front of Kirchy. "WHOA WHOA!!! Remember we're thirty feet up."
Nyctea hops to the lip of the hollow. "How are we ever going to get down?"
"The same way we got up- fly them down," mumbles Specter, opening his mustard-yellow eyes sleepily. The sooner they find Koni, the sooner he can do his dark deed.
---
Going proves to be easier than going up; and soon all five are on the ground. "Sash," asks Kojak. "Can you follow Koni's scent?"

"I think so," Sash nods. She sniffs around for a while. Then she points her nose to the right. "He's this way! Let's go!"
