Um, wow, that's a tough question. I like them all but as for specific kind...I'm not sure myself...I'd have to say...Grizzlies.

Awwww.. never thought about it that much xD I guess grizzlies fascinate me, because of BB, naturally Though on the other hand, in real life they're quite aggressive and dangerous. In Finland we have brown bears - and according to Wikipedia, grizzly bear is a subspecies of brown bear. Well, I guess my vote goes for grizzlies.

I am more into the grizzlies, cause there is something about them, making them nicer, more hug able

I voted for black bears. They aren't as big as grizzlies and are more stealthy, relying on "disappearing" rather than brute force. They also seem to have more color phases than the grizzly, which I find interesting. Around where I live, black bears are the only bears that live around here.

Well to my understanding there is definitly a difference between the "Grizzly bear" and the "Brown bear" when using the name "brown bear" you're suposed to be refering to a collection of bear species.
"Brown Bear" is commonly used to give name to the "European Brown bear".
So Mock you're right! And you're not, if you get what I mean. =3 The bear population in Finland are for as much as I know all European brown bears.
So saying that Brown bears and Grizzly bears are the same is right! Grizzly are part of the group: "brown bears" Just as European Brown bears are, but in evolution there are really some slightly differences.
Ursus arctos -> (brown bears) -Ursus arctos arctos -> European Brown bear -Ursus arctos horribilis -> Grizzly bear
Back to topic, oh and my apology for the kinda weird explaination.. I really share Ken'ichi opinion that this is a very tough question! But if I would be tortured by tickling to say my favourite I would come out by the Grizzly bear. (Out of standing above) Oh and for the "most huggable bear contest" I would definitly not choose the Grizzly. I don't think they feel much much for hugs, they do for licking and chewing. x3

Tough question. I was torn between Pandas and Polar Bears, but I remembered that Pandas aren't actually Bears, strictly speaking, so I went with Polars. ^^

Pandas aren't bears? The last I checked, they were.
