My sort of poetic description about the influence Kenai had on Nita. It's not traditional poetry, but I guess it can be called a poem. It's from her point of view. Please tell me what you think You brought me the warmth I missed. You taught me something I hardly knew about. You treated me as a friend – simply, naturally, as what I am. This all made my heart and soul truly awake. This all made me discover the completely new me that somehow seemed familiar. This all made me relax – something I had almost lost. A part of me I had forgotten woke up, demanding the right to live. Now that it's awakened, am I supposed to forget it again? Am I supposed to do what they expect me to do? Go through with this, suffocate the desire of living, return to my old self – the one who never was so strong. I need you – just as much as you need me. With you I'm stronger. I can help you to do what you must. Together we can give our love to the one who so much needs it. I am yours, you are mine.. and he is our most beloved one.

OK, Anya before I'm going to comment in details, I want to say: It's absolutely great! I enjoyed reading it (over 5 times now ;D) and at the same time trying to imagine a curtain scene/place where Kenai,Nita and Koda are in that fits this poem. The next thing I would like to add, is that reading it the first time I taught it was a song, furthermore I would like to say that to my opinion it would be a great suitable intro for a scene in the movie, as some kind of mix between the love and happiness in "This feels like home" and the sadness as in the scene when Nita leaves Kenai and Koda behind. I'm not really sure if you got my point x3. Well back to reading it the first time, I read your intro wrong, it says "her" instead of "him". the first time I was reading this poem I did it from Kenai's perspective which to my opinion fits just as good as from Nita's. Only a few lines wouldn't fit in that case. It sounds to me like that she thinks that her family doesn't give here any own decisions to make. And well "being free" in doing that (I'm pointing to parents) is in many of our eyes a meaning of love. In this case it would mean that there is lack of love. *errh hard time explaining my point sorry x3* Drama, that's OK and fits very well but I felt a bit to much drama in this sentence. Doesn't mean it's bad! Only my opinion and pfft, like if that's important. Nita is Nita, the time between she said good bye to Kenai when they were kids and the time she meets him again, doesn't changed her, only that special feeling she had with him, she lost that. She would probably feel secured and loved by Kenai (and many more things) but basically she is just herself. She looked pretty "strong" to me at her wedding with Atka before the whole story. *And then again, my point is somewhat vague explained here* My final conclusion, it's just great forget the comments really you did a great job writing and thinking this out keep up the good work! ;D Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention this (lucky I did preview) I really really love this part how you entered Koda into the poem, at least I assumed it was going about Koda. In the movie Nita's wasn't really that into Koda, but I guess the glacier scene tells enough!

Thank you, Bruno, I'm glad you liked it And hey, it's ok with the comments, I was kind of expecting some criticism as well xD It's interesting to know what people think. This is pretty much also how I have come to see the story.. And for what I know, in the inuit culture women were automatically expected to marry and have children. Nita's family does love her dearly, and of course they want her to be taken care of. I kind of see her situation similar to Pocahontas's, only that Nita doesn't quite see any reason to protest - not until she reunites with Kenai. And yeah, the "our most beloved one" means Koda. Naturally she didn't love him yet as much as Kenai did, since she hadn't had so much time with him while Kenai had been through everything that happened in the first film. But she was already very fond of Koda and would eventually learn to love him greatly Yeah, I get it ^^

Ok, here's another poem.. quite different to the previous one, eh? *giggles* This is Rutt and Tuke rescuing Koda from the hunters and going to look for Kenai.
The smallish bear in trouble, eh! Down with hunters! What has he done to you anyway, eh? You two monsters!
Success, astonishment.. And we hear the ladies sighing, calling us heroes. Beauty, eh?
“We have to find Kenai!” says the smallish bear. Geez, we almost forgot him, eh! Off we go, one bear and four moose. Will we make it on time? Or will one of the hunters hurt the big bear? (You forgot to say “eh”, eh!) Trample off, you're missing the point, eh!
Endless canyons, sun going down, us searching for way out of here. And where has he gone, eh? Growing anxiety..
A sudden, distant scream makes us all freeze and gasp the air, shocked. Man, someone really is in trouble now, eh..
Oh, the sadness! We all are crushed, eh, seeing the human girl, and the big bear who is.. dead? No, fortunately he's alive.
But, oh, the sadness! Our friend badly hurt, eh..

- - We are so charming and strong, hitting our heads together, trying to impress the ladies.
It's an awesome sport. It keeps us in good shape. And hey, it even cleans up the sinuses!
Yes, everything would be so perfect, if only that idiot over the canyon would just shut up.
Whatever we yell at him, he repeats it. Whatever we yell at passers-by, he repeats that, too!
Now isn't that an outrage? This needs to be stopped! Whatever it takes.
...
I am SO exhausted..
I guess it's pretty clear what this was about. xD

Time to update! This is something I wrote in Finnish about three years ago, and now I've translated it in English to post it here. It's about Kenai's thoughts as he grows to love Koda. I'm not so sure about this.. I might write another version and try to make it a bit more in character, but here's this version now, anyway. Feel free to review. ^^ My little friend, my only hope right now, carefree, spirited, a real kid. You walk on, happy, ready to love the entire world. You're not scared, you talk endlessly. And in some odd way you find your way to my reluctant heart. That brave and smart exterior of yours almost convinces me and makes me feel so small, until the real danger threatens. Then you really are a child; so vulnerable, so frightened, ready to run for your life. Then I will try to save you, and I fear for you more than I've ever feared for myself. How do you make me laugh at myself, see things in different light, feel an overwhelming joy, simply laughing at me, smiling, talking constantly, cuddling beside me. How do you make the ice melt away, make the reluctant me grow fond of you, make my entire world turn upside down.. You are the last one in the world whom I would hurt. And yet, what I did will hurt you more than anyone else. You cry, run away, unwilling to stay.. And yet you can later forgive me. I will never forget that. And I will never leave you.

Great poems, Anya) I often think about Kenais feelings during the movie and after. There are really complex emotions and it is one of many reasons why I love Brother Bear Thank you for showing it)

I have been having this thought for months. I wish I was an expert in editing-video stuff. I could make any FanVid or AMV. And I would use the full version of "No Way Out" as the background music and mix it together with my ideas. Your poem sounds exactly like this.
