This is another classic, and clearly one of the most popular comic series known. I remember when I was a kid, about 6 years old, my older siblings were borrowing the books from library and reading them. I did leaf many of them through, too, but even though I already could read, I had a bit weird way of reading comics: one frame from there, another from some other place, one from there.. So I didn't get so much from the storyline xD I began really reading Tintin when I was about 10 years old, and ever since I've more or less been a fan. The reason why I like Tintin.. there is excitement, great adventures - and humour as well! I've laughed countless times while readig. For some reason the excitement used to make me feel sympathy for the characters and like them even more. Besides, the themes of friendship and loyalty have touched me really. I usually don't have anything against romance - and there are many love stories I like - but I think that it's nice that there isn't any romance in Tintin. Though there are some things I dislike, for example fighting scenes. I don't like violence. So, anyone else who likes these comics? Let's share thoughts and experiences!

At first when I read the subject "The adventures of Tintin" my first taught was: "again something than only showed up abroad" but it made me curious. I mean there are lots of things that didn't showed up in here, but also things that do under an different name. Tintin! Here known as "kuifje" whoo I had the entire comic collection, but sadly I lost that when we moved out of our old place. You said you were around the age of 10 reading them eh? Hmm well I was a bit younger but prety much close. Yeah I can find myself in your opinion. But I was more into watching the serie on television rather than reading the comic collection hehe, well it was my dads collection actually and he gave it to me therefor I could only read them in the weekends. So I'm not that up-to-date about it to be discussing it sorry. Violence? Yeah for a "childrens comic" it had quite some fighting scenes it it, but lots of those were actually quite funny, as with those two cops, they always get hurt at the same time xD. But then again, it was to long ago to remember any specif storylines.

Awww, I'm sorry to hear you lost them. But if you ever have a chance, I recommend reading the books, they're awesome (well, most of them, at least; the very first stories are actually rather naive since the author didn't first take the job so seriously : Yeah, I read from somewhere that his name is "Kuifje" in Dutch. And if I remember correctly, the dog's name was Bobbie. The different translations of the names are quite fun at times. In German, for example, Tintin and Milou (Snowy in English versions) are "Tim und Struppi" As for those two policemen, yeah, their accidents were funny. I actually don't mind so much that kind of "violence" that someone carelessly walks somewhere and bumps into something. What I don't like are those fights where people use their fists.. or some weapon
