Togiak:
It was a cool summer morning. The sun was shining and a gentle breeze was blowing. The forest was filled with sounds as the breeze rustled the leaves, birds called to each other, and a nearby rabbit jumped in and out of the bushes. Togiak enjoyed days like this. Days in which one could just lie down in the shade and relax, letting all troubles simply slip away.
Unfortunately Togiak was unable to relax. He was hungry and fairly lost. This part of the forest was new to him. He stood up on his haunches, sticking his nose in the air, hoping to catch a scent of something edible. Nothing. He came back down on all fours, getting slightly aggravated now. He was in a forest, full of plants and animals, yet could not find a single thing to eat. What kind of a bear was he? He trudged ahead, there was no use in staying here.
It wasn’t long before something caught his eye. He saw a flash of brown among a nearby patch of trees. A deer maybe? But as Togiak got closer, he was filled with disappointment. Not far from him sat some sort of hawk; too hard to catch and not worth the effort. Nonetheless, the bird may have been of some use. It was bound to have seen a nearby river that the bear may be able to get some fish.
Togiak stayed back, so not to scare the hawk away, and called out, “Hey Bird!”
The hawk, previously preening itself, looked up at the bear. “What?” it responded, not really in the mood for socializing.
Togiak noticed the bird’s irritation towards him but continued anyways, “Do you know of any rivers or streams in this area?” He was slightly ashamed to ask, not being able to find it himself.
“Yes, just a mile north of here.” the hawk replied, hoping to be rid of the bear. “Just don’t let anyone from Korovin’s army catch you.” he says with a trace of sarcasm and a smirk on his face.
“Koro-who?” asks Togiak, confused by the hawks last statement.
The hawk is shocked the bear hasn’t heard of Korovin before. “You don’t know of Korovin and his army? Where have you been the last couple years?”
Togiak tilted his head down slightly. “No, not really. Do you mind explaining?”
The hawk narrowed his eyes, regretting even making that statement now. All it did was delay the bear from leaving. “Fine, but on one condition, you must leave me alone afterwards.”
Togiak nodded in agreement. “Deal.” he said. He was very fond of stories as he was told very few when he was younger.
The hawk eyed the bear then began his story. “Korovin is a bear much like yourself. Unlike you, however, he will stop at nothing to take control of the animal kingdom. It began a few years ago when he brought it up that the animals needed some sort of governing, someone that would be able to lead them and maintain order. He wished to be that leader. Of course, many animals disagreed and his offer was rejected. It wasn’t –“
“Why did they disagree? That sounded fair.” interrupted Togiak.
“Because, stupid bear, we do not need someone to create rules telling us how to lead our lives. Everything has been fine the way it is and this change was not needed. Now do not interrupt me.” The hawk's irritation towards the bear grew.
Togiak felt offended but decided to remain quiet as the hawk finished the story.
“It was another year before anyone heard anything about Korovin again. He hadn’t given up his desire to be ruler, he had just changed tactics. Rumors began spreading that he was forming an army, gaining members by promising them their own land and freedom when he came to power. His army has since grown in numbers and they have begun taking over the lands. Any animal they encounter has the choice to join Korovin, or fight them. Many have died or have been made slaves by Korovin.”
The hawk paused for a second.
“Just be careful, especially traveling alone.”
With that the hawk spread its wings and took flight, not waiting to hear the bear’s response.
Togiak wasn’t sure what to think. The story frightened him. Moving at a faster pace than before, he headed towards the river. Maybe he would find others there. Then, at least, he wouldn’t be alone.

This is my first rp, so please feel free to correct me if I do something I shouldn't =S
Anyone is welcome to join in.
Also, I will put up a character profile for Korovin as soon as I get the chance.
Enjoy! ;D
