Togiak:
”Well I –“ Togiak began before he noticed both the large bear and Selena turn their heads towards the river. Slightly confused, he looked in the same direction to see what they were staring at, finding a young wolf pup sitting there peering up at them.
Togiak then began surveying the area around them. The rest of the pack had to be close; it wasn’t like a wolf pup to stray too far away.
”Oh…Um…Hi there.” the wolf stated. ”Am I interrupting something?”
”Uhh, no..” Togiak replied. ”We were just, um, becoming acquainted with each other.” He forced a small smile then glimpsed back at the large bear, still a little edgy from the brief encounter a few moments ago.
”So where is the rest of your pack?” he asked the young wolf. He looked around again but still could not see any other wolves.

Moaki had been somewhat surprised by the idea of two bears and a lynx getting aquanted with one another. He had quickly decided not to question this, when the friendlier looking of the two bears spoke up again.
"So where is the rest of your pack?" He asked.
"Uh oh..." Moaki thought.
"My pack...Oh they're...Right upstream actually," Moaki lied, jerking his head to gesture up the river bed. "This is a...hunting tactic we're trying. I come down and...I scare all the fish up that away so the others can catch them..."
Moaki stopped to observe the three listeners, wondering if they bought it.
"I might be in trouble if they realize I scared away all the fish, and I don't have any pack around to protect me..." He worried to himself.

The facts were blatantly obvious from the moment Truttle witnessed the cub approach them alone. Truttle had no resolves about the lynx and the bear. They could take care of themselves. But this wolf pup was a different matter. Truttle was not a heartless brute to simply dismiss and abandon him.
Perhaps I'm too nice for my own good. He thought to himself.
"There's no need to lie little pup. Just as a mother bear would give her life to protect her cub, so would a wolf mother do for her pup. So I know you are alone. Are you lost? If you are, you can bunk with me until we find your pack."

"So he figured out that pack isn't here..." Moaki realized after hearing what the older bear had to say.
"Well..." Moaki began.
A sudden rumble from his stomach cut him off, remiding the wolf he hadn't had anything substantial to eat in the last few days. The cub swayed on his feet for a moment, feeling dizzy from hunger.
"Maybe I'll stick around...For one meal..." He said, stumbling back to a standing position.

BIC: Selena was surprised by the big bear's kindness to the little wolf pup. Selena was much calmer now that she had been wrong about the wolf pack being near-by. She now more closely looked at the wolf pup. He was small, scraggly, and had several scrapes and bruises in various states of healing. "Wonder how he got them? Why would he be out on his own?" Thought Selena. She turned her attention back to the first bear she met.

Truttle nodded to the wolf pup and turned to the river.
"Very well then. I'll see if I can scrounge you up some food, but this may take a while. The food has been scarce lately. Meanwhile, back to my question to the lynx and the bear. We have plenty of time."
He said as he kept his attention towards the water, looking for any signs of a fish.

Togiak:
Togiak hadn't expected the bear to be so hospitable towards the young wolf pup. Maybe he wasn't as bad as he had first assumed.
His thoughts were interrupted as the bear began speaking to the lynx and him, "Meanwhile, back to my question to the lynx and the bear."
"What questi-- oh ya!" stated Togiak, remembering what he was doing before the wolf pup had wondered in. "Well, my name is Togiak and I come from .. " he looked around. "West of here?" he said, smiling sheepishly, not too sure of himself. "I think. I don't know anymore though. I have been traveling for a while now and no longer recognize anything. As for why I came here, I just happened to come across it. I originally left home to get away from my family and to be able to explore the world. Just this morning, I ran into a hawk who mentioned that this river was here. He also told me about Korovin."
Togiak stopped briefly and looked at everyone. The large bear was still off looking for fish, but they all seemed to be paying attention.
"And that would be the reason I came looking for protection. I don't believe I would be able to fight against anyone from his army alone, so I thought that maybe if I was able to find a group of other animals to stick around with, I wouldn't need to fight alone, if the instance ever occurred."
He turned his gaze towards the large bear. "You seem to have heard of him before. You called him the Adversary? Is he really as much of a threat as the hawk said, or did it exaggerate about it?"
OOC: Sorry about the late-ish post. I'm going to try to keep up but I will be fairly busy the next couple days.

Truttle makes a quick swipe with his paw as he snares a fish. Dipping his head into the water, he pulls it out, head bobbing as the fish flailed about. With a whip of his neck, he tosses the fish onto the ground at the wolf's paws.
"There you go. Breakfast is served."
Truttle came over his head down as he was thinking of what Togiak said.
"That's a pretty good idea. I think we're going to need to band together if we even want a chance at resisting this takeover. So far, all I've heard of his is from other animals that were forced to run from their by the adversary. He's slowly trying to take over all the land to rule for himself. How he did it is still a mystery to me. So we may have to fight back."

Moaki quickly dug into the fish, only half-listening to the bears as they spoke over their plan. It didn't take much time for the hungry cub to finsih his meal, and he looked up at his companions.
"Ah...Thanks for the fish...Um..." Moaki tilted his head, thinking for a moment. "Huh, that's funny, I don't think I heard your names..."
Moaki laughed a bit, as he kicked the fish bones back into the water.
"And I didn't say mine, either, did I?" He realized. "I'm Moaki. Now...Um...What was that I heard you say about fighting?"

BIC: "Moaki huh?" thought Selena. She had heard what the Bigger bear had suggested. Selena thought about the idea of sticking around with a wolf pup and two grizzly bears. "I wouldn't have to hunt as much and I would have protection from this Korovin." But then Selena thought about if or when they found how terrible she was at hunting and her love of practical jokes. She wouldn't be welcome long if she didn't have some thing to contribute to the group and only ate their food. Suddenly an idea popped into her head.
Selena said to Moaki, "My name's Selena, nice to meet ya." she then talked to all three "I'm all for joining up and protecting each other from this Korovin, but I'm not fast nor strong. What I can do is get into a tree to spot trouble from farther away and help us avoid being surprised."
Selena awaited the response of the two bears and wolf pup nervously hoping that they would let her stay.

Togiak:
Togiak was glad they all seemed to accept the idea that they should stay together. He wasn't all that sure how well a wolf pup and a lynx would do at fighting, but having more animals with him couldn't hurt. At least they would be able to help look for food and, as the lynx had mentioned, keep watch for Korovin's men.
Togiak watched the wolf devour the fish and decided to get another of his own. This time maybe nobody would eat it. Wading in the water, he watched around him for the reflection of light coming from the fish. Spotting one, he stuck his head under and grabbed it in the same manner as the one he had caught previously.
He carried the prize back to the others and found a spot to lay it down. Then using his paws, he stood the fish upright and began to munch on the tail.
"I am Togiak." he answered to the wolf pup. Togiak looked at the large bear, "but I don't believe you have told us your name."
"I have said a few things about myself. If we are going to be grouping together, it would be nice to know a little about you all as well."
He continued to chew on the fish, waiting to see if the others would respond.

One of Moaki's hind legs went up to scratch behind his ear. The thought of something out there that they might have to fight was a bit unnerving to the cub, but he was determined not to show it.
"Togiak has a point," Moaki chimed in, looking at the larger bear, "You have something against this Korovin guy?"

Truttle raised his muzzle as he scratched at his neck with his claws. "Not much to say really. My name is Truttle. I've lived here for a while now. Maybe a few seasons already. And my beef with Korovin is that he's become a bit threat. He's trying to take over and attacks anyone who doesn't join his sides. There may be the threat of a war as well. And if that happens. Everyone will suffer."
Glancing over at the young pup, he stopped himself suddenly. He didn't want to frighten the young pup. He wasn't ready for such tendencies. Perhaps noone was. So he decided to give them some sort of positive outlook. Looking at them each to get there attention and calm their nerves he spoke of what the situation would be like.
"I don't think we will have to worry about that yet though. I don't think Korovin is foolish enough to do that yet. There would be too much at stake. So for now, we'll just have to watch out for his convoys that I think he would send out to try to spread his rule. I'll fight to keep you safe if we run into trouble."

Moaki chuckled a bit as Truttle finished speaking.
"Thanks for the offer, Truttle, but I'm a bit tougher than I look," Moaki stated, turning to show the others the cuts and scars marking his body. "I got most of these wrestling with my brothers and sisters, if I can handle them then I think I can fight for myself."

BIC: Selena was pleased that for the four of them were sticking together... for the moment. Selena replied "Alright now that that's settled, I believe I'll have some breakfast." before she walked to the river. Selena was determined not to show how bad she was at hunting, and settled determinedly by the riverbank, teaching the water. Selena took her time watching the near-by brown trout, trying to determine just where and when to catch one for a meal. At last she spotted one close enough to snatch. Selena stuck her face into water trying to snatch the wriggly fish with her teeth, but she missed. The fish was farther to the side and was about to dart away. With a desperate snap, Selena manged to catch the fish by the webbed fin of its tail and pulled it up. She dragged back the prize from the edge of the water, She was wet but proud that she had caught her own meal. She held fish with her right paw as she settled down to her first meal in days. OCC: Sorry about not being on the last few days. I'm starting up school again and probably won't be able to post as often .
