"We ready?" Midnight asked.
"Yeah let's go." Togiak stated. He then turned toward Selena and motioned her to come with them.
They began down the path they had just climbed just a couple hours ago. Togiak spoke as they walked, "I say we try to make this fairly quick. It is going to be dark in a little bit and I don't want to be wandering around here at night. I get lost easily enough in the day time."
Togiak directed the others towards where he believed the water was. He walked at a little faster pace, feeling a little uncomfortable without the protection of the large bear. "At least I'm not alone." he thought to himself.

Right after the trio started their trip back down plateau, Truttle lifted himself up and walked over to the edge of the cliff. Looking down over the edge he could see his friends reach the bottom.
"I'll just keep an eye on them to see if they make it safely." He said quietly as he kept watch over them.

BIC: Selena followed the two bears down the path from the plateau and to the source of the glint that togiak had seen. The three found a small amount of brush stood between them and where the glint was supposed to be. The two bears pushed through the brush first with Selena trailing behind. They emerged in front of a small pond and Midnight proceeded to the water's edge.

The sun hung low in the sky. Slowly the day was disappearing. Three wolves wandered around in no particular direction, looking for lone animals that they could recruit into Korovin’s army. So far this day they had been unsuccessful. There had been nobody else around. The forest seemed to have gone into hiding.
The three wolves talked among each other as they walked. The largest one snapped at the youngest of the three wolves for complaining.
“I already told you to shut up! We are not going to give up at least until the sun has gone down. We must prove ourselves to Korovin.” he barked.
Others called him Croal. Nobody, except for him, knew what his true name was, but he seemed to want to keep it that way. Being the oldest and the biggest, Croal was put in charge of their small pack. Accompanying him were Akrila and Faolan. Both were about the same age and size but Faolan was a few months younger.
Akrila chuckled as she watched Croal yell at Faolan. She couldn’t help it. Even though she wasn’t that much older, Faolan would constantly act much more childish. It annoyed Croal and entertained Akrila. None of the three really wanted to be together, but they were put in the group by Korovin. Arguing about it would have only landed them somewhere even worse.
Suddenly Akrila stopped and sniffed the air. “Finally.” she thought, “Some other animals in these woods.” Croal noticed her behavior and did the same. Smelling the air, he also picked up the scent of some nearby creatures.
Faolan kept walking, unaware that the others had stopped. He wasn’t paying attention. All he could think about was how unfair Croal always ways. It wasn’t like he had done anything wrong. All he did was ask if they were going to be done soon. He was tired of walking. There was nobody else around them, they had been searching the entire day and had not run in to any other animals.
“Faolan, get back here with us and stay quiet!” Croal said, trying to stay quiet so that whatever was nearby wouldn’t hear him. Faolan stopped and looked over his shoulder at the other two wolves. They were about forty feet behind him and seemed as though they had found something. Quickly rejoining the others, Faolan asked, “What is it? Is there another animal around here?”
“Shut up” Akrilla quickly muttered. She knew Croal would be furious if Faolan scared away their possible recruit. “Yes, we think we may have found something, a bear if I’m not mistaken.” she whispered. Croal glared at Faolan but then began to follow the scent. “Stay near me and don’t say a word.” he growled, directing it mostly towards Faolan. The three traveled through the woods swiftly but quietly. It wasn’t long before the trees opened up to a pond maybe 80 feet wide. Stopping, Croal scanned the area for the bear spotting it on the opposite side. But there wasn’t just one bear, there were two, and… a lynx? Croal was confused now. What would two bears be doing hanging around with a lynx. They didn’t seem to be trying to eat it, they just sat there, talking with it.
Akrilla interrupted Croal’s thoughts, “Three animals? The lynx won’t be a problem, but I don’t know how well we can fight against two bears.”
“Perhaps we won’t need to fight them. Besides, we have to at least try. This may be our only chance today to get others to follow the Great One.” Croal responded. “Now listen to me. We need to sneak around to get closer to them. I will reveal myself and offer them the chance to join us. You two need to remain hidden unless we are forced to attack. If they decline my offer, I want you, Faolan, to distract the bear with the lighter stripe running down his back while Akrilla and I surround the other one. The lynx shouldn’t give us any trouble, but should it try to help, just give it a quick bite to scare it away.”
“I have to fight a bear on my own?” Faolan asked, somewhat worried. “No, just lead it away from us so that we don’t have to fight both at the same time.” Akrilla answered.
When they were all clear on what was to be done, they slunk back into the trees and slowly made their way around the pond.

Togiak walked up to the cool water, peering at his reflection. Midnight wasn’t too far behind him. Quickly, he made a sweeping motion with his paw, splashing water onto both Midnight and Selena. Laughing at his now wet companions, Togiak didn’t notice as Midnight rushed up to him, knocking him into the water.
Togiak trudged out of the water and shook himself off. It wasn’t the cleanest water and he now had little bits of mud in his fur. “Heh, guess I deserved that.” he chuckled. Togiak stopped, thinking he heard a sound coming from the forest. He stared into the trees, but didn’t see any movement. He turned around but heard a snap, like that of a stick being broken.
He turned his attention back to the woods. This time something did move. A lone wolf walked out from behind a tree and headed towards them. Togiak backed up next to Midnight and then questioned the approaching wolf, “What is it that you want?”
***
“Relax bear,” Croal calmly stated, “I come with... a proposition… for you.” He smiled at the bears and the lynx, revealing two rows of pointed teeth. “What would you think if I said I could offer you your own land and possible power over other creatures, completely free? All you have to do is serve Korovin and help him in his inevitable rise to power.” Croal paused, they didn’t seem too impressed. “Think about it. You will get the opportunity to fight and in the process learn to be stronger and more powerful. Not only will you be helping the army, but should the need arise; you have the entire army to help you. No longer will you have to fear anyone. On top of that, you get your own property, free from others trying to take it. No longer will you have to fight in order to keep what is yours.”
One of the bears growled. “Leave us wolf. We don’t want anything to do with you or Korovin.”
Croal smirked. “Think wisely about your decision bear. Declining this generous offer will only put you against one of the largest and fastest growing forces in these lands. That isn’t what you want now, is it?”
The bear again scoffed at him. The other two didn’t seem all that anxious to join either.
“So be it. If you do not wish to join voluntarily and fight, you will join by force and be made a slave. Now!” he barked, signaling the other wolves to join him.
Faolan ran out first, snapping at the bear with the stripe, attempting to lure him away. “Here you big fluff ball. You can’t get me, can you? Too fat and slow!” he said, taunting the bear.
***
One of the wolves went after Midnight as the other two surrounded him. Togiak spun, trying to watch both of the wolves in case one of them tried to attack. The smaller wolf made a run at him. He swatted at her causing her to back away a little. Distracted, the other wolf ran towards him, sinking his teeth into his shoulder. Togaik roared and reared back, throwing the wolf off of him.
He turned towards the wolves and charged, turning at the last second, trying to scare them off. The wolves backed up some, but didn’t seem like they were going to be leaving. Again circling Togiak, one of the wolves made another charge at him. Like before he clawed at the wolf, hitting it in the face and creating a gash. Quickly he turned to see the other wolf again trying to attack him. He quickly moved out of the way and tried to bite the wolf as it passed by, just barely missing.
The other wolf ran to attack him trying to get him before he could notice. Togiak saw the wolf running towards him however and lowered his head. As the wolf got near, Togiak lifted his head back up, scooping up the wolf and throwing it a few feet away. The wolf yelped as it hit the ground but soon recovered and was back to help the other one.
Togaik yelled towards Midnight to see if he could help him. Togiak was not the greatest fighter and would only be able to hold off the wolves for so long. He wasn’t tired yet, but it wouldn’t take too long. Then the wolves would have an advantage on him.
OOC: I'm not going to give the wolves a profile. I don't think the I am going to use them after this scene. If I later change my mind I'll make something up for them.
Also, feel free to control any of the wolves. I know it would be a little difficult to have a fight if you had to wait for me to control them.

Moaki's ears twitched, and the wolf pup rolled over in his sleep...
Right off the rock he had been napping on. Landing with a thud, the cub woke up and winced as he got back on his paws. Stretching, he looked around, surprised to see no one but Truttle was around.
"What're looking at down there?" Moaki asked as he walked over to the edge next to Truttle and peered down.
He smiled as he saw the others, Midnight, Selena and Togiak, gathering at the river to drink. Moaki's eyes went wide though as he spotted the wolves moving in...
The cub gasped in fright as the fight began and he quickly ran toward the path they had taken earlier and started to pick his way down.
"Come on Truttle, we got to help them!" Moaki shouted.

As the wolves started their attack, he couldn't help but hear one of them, Faolan, was taunting him: “Here you big fluff ball. You can’t get me, can you? Too fat and slow!” he said. Little did the Wolf know, Bears can run suprisingly fast. "Oh... I think you spoke too soon!!" Midnight said, gradually yelling louder and louder as the sentance went on.
He lunged at the wolf with both arms open wide, along with his mouth, ready to chomp, swipe or grab the Wolf, depending on which way it attempted to dodge. Faolan jumped out of the way, but got scratched by a couple of the claws on Midnight's right paw. The Wolf yelped as the claws went in and under his skin, he soon landed, quickly coming back to his feet. He took a quick look at the wound. Panting, Faolan looked back up, making eye contact with the Striped Bear. "You'll regret that..." he said.
"And you'll regret Joining Korovin." Midnight snapped back.. "We know how his army works. You join or fight for you life. I'm guessing you three are just cowards. You only joined Korovin to save your own skin." the Bear growled... But shortly, he could hear Togiak yelling for help. Forgetting about the youngest wolf, Midnight turned around and ran towards the other two wolves. "GET OFF OF HIM!!" He screamed in fury, ramming the injured one with his head...

Truttle had been keeping an eye on them as they had been walking. Almost ready to lie back down to sleep when he hears a roar. His ears perking, he looks back down to see that the group has been ambushed by some wolves. Moaki, having come over to look as well had witnessed the scene as well and was heading down the plateau. "Right behind you kid. Let's hurry, they'll need our help!"
It would take them a while to get down the hill quickly in time to help.

BIC: Selena stood still as the battle waged on around her, she jumped into the near-by cover and crouched down. The leaves around her rustled slightly, she was quivering with fear. She never thought that three wolves would have been able to sneak up on the three of them and catch them by surprise. Togiak roared. The cry pierced into Selena and She desperately wanted to help her friend. Suddenly the footfalls of two new animals could be heard, thundering toward the battle.
OOC: Sorry I haven't been able to post early.

Moaki could see Selena duck and hide just as he came into view of the fight. Midnight had turned away from his opponent to try and help Togiak, and now the wolf was poised to strike.
"Oh no you don't!" Moaki shouted, tackling the larger canine to the ground...
Or rather, that's what he tried to do. All the cub succeeded at was bouncing off the larger wolf's side and winding up with a dizzied expression on his face. Never-the-less, Faolon turned toward his latest attacker with a snarl.
"Was that supposed to hurt?" He asked, stalking toward the cub.
"You leave my friends...." Moaki started to demand.
POW!
Moaki grunted as he suddenly found himself pinned under Faolon's paw. The pressure on his back prevented him from crying out for help.
"Runts like you should learn their place," Faolon warned as he bared his fangs. "Of coure, it's not like you're gonna last long enough for it to matter now..."
OOC: There, that outta pick things up a bit. Hope we're still continuing this, and sorry I didn't post sooner.

OOC: Sorry I haven't been able to post much! It was a combination of waiting for a suitable time to post and me having absolutely no spare time for the past few days.
BIC: After the injured wolf went tumbling a few feet, Midnight turned around to help Togiak. But instead, spotted Moaki pinned under Faolan's paw. He could see the pup was in blatant mortal danger. Swiftly and quietly, Midnight ran to the Wolf pup's assistance. The bear took a strike at Faolan from behind, catching him off guard. His claws sunk beneath the Wolf's skin. So deep that Midnight was able to throw him against a tree.
"You alright?! Where's Truttle?!" he asked Moaki frantically.

Moaki gasped for breath as the weight of his attacker's paw was flung off his back. He got back up, his thoughts slightly jumbled. Still, he was able to get the gist of what Midnight was asking...
"Truttle was right behind me," Moaki answered. "Oh, Togiak still needs help, doesn't he?!"
The cub looked around, trying to spot where the other bears had dissapeared to.

Having taken a bit longer to catch up as the pup was much faster than him. Truttle finally managed to arrive at the scene. Seeing that Midnight had saved Moaki he went over to help fight the wolves attacking Togiak, he gets between him and the wolves.
"Rooaaarrr!!! You wolves don't stand half a chance against me alone with the three of you combined. What makes you think you'll be able to last three on three? Figure out the odds or be disemboweled. Your choice."

"You're smaller, and you have a life ahead of--" Midnight said to the wolf pup, but was interrupted by Truttle's load roar. He was so busy with Moaki that he hadn't noticed the Bear arriving. After Truttle's choice words, Midnight stepped forward to back him up. "He's got a point. Three skinny Wolves against three strong Bears. You stand no chance..." he said in a cocky attitude..

Togiak panted, finally separated from the wolves. Truttle's arrival seemed to catch the three wolves off guard. The wolves stopped attacking and stood together whispering among one another. Though the whispers were almost too quiet to be heard, Togiak was able to pick up on a few words.
". . .don't have. . .I'm not fighting him. . .can come back. . .inform the Adv. . ."
The largest of the wolves, the one that had spoken to them when they had first arrived, spoke up, "Very well, you have made your intentions clear. For now we shall leave you, but when Korovin takes power you will regret your actions."
Turning, the wolves hastily made their way off into the woods. Togiak sighed, glad that they had left.
***
Faolan complained as they made their way away from the group of animals, "Why can't we at least grab the pup before we leave? It wouldn't be hard, just run in and snatch him when the others have their backs turned."
"I told you already." Croal responded, "Leave them for now. We will be back when they aren't expecting us. Grab the pup then if you want, but for now we must make it seem as though we are departing."
Akrilla smirked. What an interesting night it was going to be.
OOC: I apologize for my (very) late post. I have had a lot going on lately but hope to start up again here.
