OOC: I thought I'd get back into roleplaying by starting a thread. Anyone can join. I'll be playing my character, Kirchy.
BIC: I yawned and stretched. I slowly stood up, shaking myself to get rid of sleep. I stepped outside and blinked my eyes a few times. Boy, it was light out. I smiled as I looked around. I had finally made it to the Salmon Run. And I had done it without my older adopted brother Mink.
My smiled faded as I thought about him. It had been a year since Mink had left me. He never said where he was going, just that I couldn't come. I sat down and sighed, flattening my ears. I was still just a cub. I shouldn't be out on my own so young.
I sighed again as I stood up. I might as well get something to eat. I stopped by the river. I looked around at all the other bears having fun together and I was disheartened. Mink was the only one who ever bothered to get to know me. I shook the thoughts from my head and returned my attention to the water.

OOC: I'll play Kenai (and Koda if noone else wants him)
BIC:
"Kenai, wait up!" I rolled my eyes as Koda came running up behind me.
"Well then you shouldn't lag behind..." I said to him, annoyed. I wasn't in the best of moods. This was my second time at the salmon run and Koda bugging me all morning with questions about what story he should tell all the other bears. Reaching my wits end, I had tried to sneak away from him, ending up with him trailing me yet again.
"Isn't Bucky around here somewhere? Why don't you go play with him?"
"Bucky usually doesn't get here for another day or two. And besides -- Hey, whose that?" Koda gestured to a cub who looked alone and forlorn. Koda ran up to him, leaving me to trail after him.
"Koda, wait up!"

I perked my ears up when I heard the sound of paws trampling towards me. I turned to see a cub bounding towards me. An older bear was frantically running after him. I couldn't help but smirk slightly as I watched them.

"Hi! What are you doing all alone? My name's Koda." Koda said all of this very fast and looked expectantly at the cub.
"Koda, what are doing? Who's this?" I finally managed to catch up with him, and I was panting slightly.
"I don't know who this is. We just met." He turned back and faced the cub. "This is Kenai, my big brother." he gestured at me while I laid down, still somewhat out of breath.

I blinked, a bit taken back, as the cub Koda began talking very fast. He didn't give me time to answer a question before he said something else. Then he introduced me to his brother, which made me wince slightly. "Hello," I said slowly. "I'm Kirchy. I'm alone because I don't have a family anymore. I've been living on my own."

"Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. I lost my mom because of --" I interrupted him by kicking him in the side, hopefully hinting to him that that topic was off limits.
"...a hunter..." He finished lamely. Then he continued as if he hadn't been interrupted. "You're a little young to be on your own, don't you think? You could hang out with us if you want." His eyes brightened as he said this, looking up hopefully at Kirchy.

I blinked. "Yeah, I am a little young," I admitted. "Sure, I'll hang out with you. If you really want me to." I don't know why I accepted. Maybe I was just tired of being alone.

"How much fun...now I have to babysit two cubs instead of one..." I grumbled, standing up and stretching, having finally caught my breath. Without warning, Koda jumped up on my back, and gestured for Kirchy to do the same.
"So, what do you want to do, Kirchy?"

I watched Koda jump onto Kenai's back. I hesitated. "Actually, I was going to get something to eat right now, if you don't mind." I glanced at the river.

"No problem!" Koda said. "I was just thinking how hungry I was anyways."
This relieved me. But now I had something else to worry about. I still didn't really know how to catch fish. I sighed, and, following Koda, headed over to the river and prepared to make a fool out of myself.

I smiled and walked over to the edge of the river. I stared into the water, concentrating hard. I saw a large salmon swimming closer and smirked. I wait until the right moment, and then I swiped my paw in the water. The salmon flew into the air. I caught the fish in the air, then set it down, placing my paws over it. I smiled triumphantly.

"Bear's got skill." Koda observed of the new bear.
I laughed nervously. "Heh...um, Koda why don't you get both of us some fish?" I looked over at Koda, hoping he would get the hint.
Koda sighed and rolled his eyes, then said, "Ok, but this is the last time Kenai..."
And with that, he snatched out two salmon within seconds of each other, holding one out to me.
"Thanks." I said, somewhat lamely.

I watched with amusement as Koda catches fish for Kenai. I wondered why Kenai didn't get his own fish, but I didn't say anything. I shrugged and started to eat my salmon.

I felt better after eating my salmon. I guess I had just been hungry after all.
"So, Kirchy, where we're you from before your family got split up?" Koda asked.

I swallowed my food and looked up at Koda. "I used to live way up in the north. It was a little cooler than it is here, but I liked it."
