As the bears approach the village, Del'aki suddenly stops up. He had never actually seen a village this close up. Never seen the kids play in the sun, the women wash their clothes in the river, the men chatting around the camp-fires! A sudden fear came upon Del'aki as he stood there, observing the village. He felt most like turning around, but decided to follow the bears, into the village. He had not come this far, to let fear scare him of.
As they walked past the tents, fires and people, it was obvious that Del'aki was quite nervous. Suddenly the bears stopped outside a larger tent, is this the shamans house, or whatever we're after here, he thought for himself..

"Follow us, and we'll show you around." Kenai said to Del'aki. He, Nadine and the others lead Del'aki inside the hut. "You stay there and rest for a while Del'aki." Nadine said pointing over to the soft huge bed of furs Del'aki was standing next too. "Me and the others will help you in a moment. Are you hungry? I can grab you something to eat." She said to him.

Upon being led into the hut, Del'aki stood and stared. He had never before actually been inside the residence of a human. A humid smell, filled the room, a fire blazed in the center and smoke rose through a small circular hole in the roof. Upon hearing Nadine speak, Del'aki turned around to take a look at this bed.... A large pile of various furs, made up the bed..... Del'aki became terrified by the sight... Murderers, Killers he thought for him self.... Everything around him didn't seem to matter, only the pile of furs mattered... Del'aki just stood there, scared stiff observing the file of furs, with a frightened expression in his face, thinking.....

"Oh don't worry about a thing Del'aki." Kenai said. "Those furs aren't made out of bear I swear." Upon hearing this, Kimba quicky rush right back inside the hut carrying a big salmon in her mouth. "Hey, where did you come from?" Nadine asks looking suprised. Kimba gently set the fish down. "I grab Del'aki food from the river not too far from here." She tells her big sister. Kimba grabs the fish again in her mouth and kindly hands it over to Del'aki to show her kindness. "Here...I got this for you. I hope you're hungry. You're gonna need to fill up that belly of yours if you wanna be strong again." She says. Kenai and Nadine smiled. They never knew the little yellow cub would do something nice before....but it was quite a suprised how Kimba can trust a stranger like Del'aki this fast before.

"How kind of you, Kimba" Del'aki says, sitting down on the pile of furs. "But I can't eat this, not infront of you. It would be rude of me to eat this fish, right in front of ya'll, as you must also be hungry after the nights events." Sensing some kind of disappointment in Kimba's eyes, Del'aki gently pats her on the back. "Hey cheer up, I love the fish But you must understand that I just can't munch this down, with your sister, Nadine, and her mate, Kenai, observing, as they both must be quite hungry too!"

"You don't need to worry Del'aki." Nadine says. "We'll be fine. Go ahead and eat. You'll need your srength. Me and Kenai will be fine getting food on our own." She says and begins to leave with Kenai following her. Denahi came inside the hut just in time carrying a bowl of warm water and bandages as soon as Kenai and Nadine were leaving. "Where are you going?" Kimba asks her big sis. "We'll be back. We're just gonna get a bite to eat and bring back more fish for later." Says Kenai and he and Nadine have left.
Denahi gently set down the first-aid stuff he needed to help with Del'aki's paw. "I brought something to warm up your paw a bit.....now this might sting a bit." He says dipping a piece of old cloth inside the warm water and gently put it on Del'aki's injured paw, doing his best to be careful without stinging the bear's wound so much.

Del'aki bites his teeth together, in pain, as Denahi cleans the wound of dirt and stuff.
As Denahi continues applying some sort of salve to hit wound, Del'aki says somewhat suspecious. "So what do you think about bears Denahi? When we were out there, I asked them why they had been changed into bears. what could they possibly have done so bad that the great spirits would change them into bears?"

After Denahi was done cleaning up Del'aki's wound, he stood there staring at the bear when he ask him a question what made his brother and friend into bears. "That's a long story...." Kimba says. She was gonna explain to Del'aki herself when Denahi decided to be the one telling it to Del'aki. "Kenai and Nadine's transformations are both a different side to the story." Denahi begin.
"My brother got change into a bear two years before Nadine did. What Kenai did he....he...." He stammers, can this bear really handle the thought of telling him that Kenai once killed a bear? Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to tell him, but he knew this bear had to understand what was going on and made Kenai the bear he is today. "He killed an animal." He says.
"An animal?! Denahi, he killed a...." Kimba was gonna say it, but he quicky shove a cloth into the cub's mouth to make her shut up. She spit the dirty wet cloth out of her mouth. "Yuck! Eeeh, what you do that for?!" The cub says angerily. "Do you mind?! I'm telling a story here." Denahi snaps. "So? I was just gonna say the animal Kenai killed was a...."
"Kimba, that's enough!!" Denahi yells. Kimba glares at the human and steps outside the hut for a while. Denahi goes back to the story, but leaves the word "bear' out. "Moving on....Kenai killed an animal, but....that's not important. We can't tell you or else...anyway..." Denahi says, getting back to the story. "The Great Spirits change him a bear to teach him a lesson and....he went to the mountain where the lights touch the earth to try to change back, but he learn a deep lesson about all animals and decides to be a bear. But with Nadine...hers is more different." He said.
"Her life as a human was depressing and hard. When she met Kenai, they had a lot in common and eventfully, they fell in love. I met Nadine about a few days before she met Kenai. We're best friends, but when Kenai came into the picture, I was getting jealous because I thought I was feeling left out...don't ask. But I found out her place is with Kenai even though she left the human world forever like my brother did, the spirits decided to make her into a bear. She wanted to escape the differcult life she left behind and wanted a more happier life, so she did."

"Killed an animal? must have been some of an animal, since I don't see hunters being punished by the Great Spirits for hunting deer, moose and so on!"
Del'aki carefully grabs the fish, Kimba had given him, and takes a bite. "Tasty fish, Kimba...Thanks"
The swelling on Del'akis right paw was slowly disappearing, and the infection hurt less. Relieved Del'aki said "Thank you, Denahi, thank you" Patting him on his shoulder.. "I also believe I owe you a thank you, Kimba" Del'aki also pats her on the shoulder. "How long do I have to rest, before I can get back to hunting? Denahi?"

"I think you should rest now. The healing won't take that long. But it takes a short while to heal after resting."
"We're back!!" Kenai said comimg inside the hut. Nadine was carry two baskets of fish, one on her head and one on her back. "Hi Kenai! Hi big sister, where you get the baskets from?" Kimba says, happy to see the two happy pairing back with extra fish for dinner later. "The villagers had a lot of unused baskets, so me and Kenai decided to use them after we caught a lot of fish today." Nadine answers.
Kenai and Denahi carefully help Nadine put away the baskets of fish. Then the black bear went over to Del'aki. "How's the paw Del'aki?" She asks.

"thanks, my paw is better. just need some rest, and then you can continue your peaceful lives without me." Gratifying Del'aki continues, "I never believe I thanked you and Kenai properly, for helping me out there in the storm, even though I reacted somewhat hostile. So say the least."
Somewhat tired, Del'aki yawns.. "I better get to sleep, so this paw of mine can heal"

"Do you really have to go?!" Kimba whines, not wanting Del'alki to leave after his paw will healed. "Kimba...." Nadine hiss angerily underneath her breath. Kenai decides to ignore the two bickering sisters and turns to Del'aki. "It was our pleasure helping you out Del'aki. I know you'll return the favor to us too someday....now get some sleep. You'll need it." Kenai said.

"Yes Kimba, I have to go. I just don't belong here, I belong in the wild. But hey, I'll be here until my paw becomes usable again!" Del'aki lays down on the pile of furs, and slowly dozes of. Hours pass by, while Del'aki lay there, dreaming.

"Does he have to go Nadine?" Kimba turns to her big sister sadly after Del'aki was sound asleep. "You know everyone we meet can't always stay forever with us. It doesn't work that way." Answers Nadine
"How come?" Asked Kimba. "Because some people have their own way and we have ours." Nadine said.

A few hours later, when it had gotten dark, Del'aki suddenly woke hearing desperate cries, all over the village. He heard men yelling, "Fire Fire, the camp's on fire.", women screaming for help and fires raging all over the place. Del'aki quickly got out of the bed, and instantly noticed that his paw, had gotten a lot better, but as he looked towards the exit, the only thing he saw was flames. The tent was on fire. From the "ceiling" rags of burning cloth, dripped down. Panicly Del'aki looked for an alternate exit, but without look. It seemed as if he was caught. "I guess death finally caught up with me" he said for himself."
Suddenly he heard the screams of children, from within one of the opposing tents/huts. "No" Del'aki said, as his panicing mind, gained some sense. Swiftly Del'aki jumped through the burning cloth wall, of the tent. Burning cloth wrapped around him, he desperately rolled around on the ground, putting it out. Focused Del'aki got up on his feet. Most of the fur on his left side, had been burnt black, and several lesser burns could be seen on his skin. Once again he heard the children scream for help. Looking around the camp, Del'aki saw that atleast half the camp was on fire, and a large part of the opposing forest-area. "Perhaps a Forest Fire", Del'aki said to himself. The sky had been colored black by the smoke of the fire. Looking over at the tent, the desperate screams of children came from, he noticed that the entrance was on fire, as was most of the tent. Quickly Del'aki moved to the tent, grabbing the burning cloth, with his paw and opening the tent-entrance, giving out a roar as he did so. Keeping the entrance opened, just long enough to allow the children to escape, the fire spread to his paw and his fur. A few meters away, Del'aki noticed a bowl of water, and quickly put his burning paw into the water. Next to him, the tent collapsed, and crashed together. "I have to get out of here" Del'aki said. Looking towards the hills, outside the camp, Del'aki saw the figure of 1 grown up bear, and a smaller bear, probably a cub.
Nervously he wondered, if the other 2 bears were still trapped in the village. Desperately del'aki began to yell, "Kenai!............Nadine!.....Kimba.......Akai......Where are you?", hoping that the bears who hadn't escaped could hear him.
