Don't get me wrong, I totally loves this movie. But at the same time, it kinda sucked.
Don't you think that Disney could've done a much better job? I mean, it was such an enchanting story, there were just so much potential to make a legendary movie out of it. But the somehow they didn't bring out the full potential...the plot itself was great, but flow wasn't rich enough and ended up being mediocre overall.
The only thing that made up the success in my opinion besides the artwork was the story itself being already so magical. But just to think that with a better screenplay, the beauty of this story would've made such a magnificent film, it's sad that it went from potentially "extraordinary" to simply "acceptable".
I wish Disney would do a remake of this movie, or perhaps a REALLY good sequel like Toy Story 3.

Are you speaking of the first one? Brother Bear? I thought it was excellent. I found nothing wrong with it. In fact, when I first watched it, I had the doubt that maybe Kenai was going to be changed back into a human and left like that, the total cliche of all movies of this caliber, but to my surprise and gratification, it left me wrong and pleased. Leaving Kenai as a bear made open for a sequel and fan-works.
Also, it's very rare to get an antagonist that has such a strong relationship with the protagonist. Even the protagonist has his dark twist to the movie because he killed Koda's mom, one of the main leads in the story.
If I were to give any complain about this movie, it would have been that I don't think Koda would have forgiven Kenai so easily after he found out the truth, but then again he still didn't forgive him so easily really at first so it's justified. Since it cut off after the moose leave and Koda is left alone to think for a while, I'm sure he had plenty of time to let it sink in before he went to look for Kenai. I'm sure there was plenty of time while Kenai wandered around trying to search around that mountain.
So anyway, that's my opinion.

I agree with you on this completely bro.I don't normally call movies "Great" or "perfect" but Brother Bear was the first to really (to me) to be Great AND Perfect.

I was complaining about the screenplay, not the plot (storyline was perfect). And even that I'm not saying it's bad either, just that the movie could've easily been better (looking at their previous efforts), if Disney put a bit more effort in the storytelling part.
EDIT: I just remembered the word I meant to use: "the flow". Yes, that's what I was trying to say. It just didn't feel "rich" enough as, let's say, the Lion King.
