With all of the old Disney classics being put on Bluray; most of them have already gotten their own now such as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Bambi, The Lion King, The Fox and the Hound, you gotta be wondering the same thing too.
I mean we're just two years away before celebrating Brother Bear's 10 year anniversary in 2013, so doesn't it make ya wonder that in the celebration to that, will they or will they not have a Bluray release for it?
In my opinion, I'm hoping they will. But what I am concern about is the sequel. If you look at Bambi II, they sold a separated copy Bluray of it after the first Bambi movie was re-released, unlike The Fox and the Hound 2 where they just combine it for the original one in the markings of it's 30th year anniversary.
If they have Brother Bear 2 on Bluray sold seperately, I'm cool with just getting the original one alone, but if it's combine with it, well...ehh! I don't know! But the funny thing I've notice unlike the special edition DVDs, lots of Bluray movies has other new stuff that didn't have with like before, such as deleted songs for example, while most of them WILL be able to have the same features as before.
And if we're lucky, maybe just maybe, we might have to get a full on version of that deleted song called This Can't Be My Destiny cause a lot of you as I recall, wanted to know how the whole piece go when we just got a small clip of it, I know I wanted too and I was really curious!

I voted yes, because I'd like to see what extra content they could put on Blu-Ray.

Oh, I don't think there's any question that they will release it on Blu-Ray. I'm certain they will. But now that you mention it, I do wonder whether they'll release the two movies separately or in a combo pack.
I picked up the Fox and the Hound combo pack recently, and personally I think it's a great idea; I liked the sequel enough to own it, but not really enough to pay full price for it on its own. I'd planned to pick it up at some point, but never got around to it before.
Also, sometimes a combo pack like that can help someone to discover a movie they wouldn't have seen otherwise; the special edition DVD of Anastasia included its spin-off, Bartok the Magnificent, which I had never seen before, nor had any interest in seeing (it was, in my case, the victim of very poor advertising). I finally decided to check it out, and to my surprise I loved it.
Two movies for the price of one is a great deal, and even if you don't like the second movie, you're not paying any extra for it; the Fox and the Hound set costs the same as single movie such as Dumbo. If they only release Brother Bear on Blu-Ray with Brother Bear 2 in the same package, would you really pass on buying a movie you love just because it comes with one you hate for no extra charge?

Well to be really honest with ya Epesi, I'm not exactly sure! This is why I was wondering about it. I am sorta worried about it, but not by much liked I used to be. The Fox and the Hound 2 is the only sequel that did combine with the first one, and yet Bambi II didn't. It would have to be up to Disney if they wanna have BB2 on Bluray separated or together with the first one. If you like my own thoughts, I think Disney is gonna keep on doing this each time they have the first and second sequels on Bluray; have some of them put in together for the price or one or not. However, I don't think the company could really make up it's mind if this continues to happened with all of the other films into the near future. What other choice would I get if it did came with it together? Will I still buy it? Probably! But if I did, I'll just have to ignore it and pretend like it's never there, unless if it's hidden somewhere on one of the copies just like Bartok the Maginficent was on the Anastasia DVD, then what's the cost of it? I would probably would need a lot of time to figure this out. Or I could just skip out on it since all of us do already have the old 2004 version of the DVD and probably the 2006 sequel. That doesn't mean we HAVE to get it on Bluray. Not a lot of people own Bluray players. I myself have a PS3 to play Bluray movies.

That's how I watch Blu-rays as well. I have a PS3 myself.

I just hope they'd add in the confession scene in the blueray version. I know that they did it for The Lion King. (morning report)
The confession scene really reinforces the theme of brotherhood. Actually, one of the complaints I first had with the movie was that the explicit revelation of the theme that the audiance is expecting to come, right after the plot buildup, never came at all, and after the climax the movie just ends without a clear "statement", leaving the audience a bit confused and needing to fill up the explaination themselves.

I just hope they'd add in the confession scene in the blueray version. I know that they did it for The Lion King. (morning report) Personally, I hope they don't. If it were just a matter of adding in an extra scene, I wouldn't mind, but this would mean replacing the existing "No Way Out" sequence, just as the "Morning Report" song took the place of the original scene.* I didn't think it worked very well in that case, and I don't think it would here, either. *Yes, there was the option of watching the original cut, but it was kind of glitchy, messing up the audio, not to mention it's kind of obnoxious to have to switch modes before you can press play -- if I remember right, they made the new version the default option. I suppose if they corrected the above issues, I wouldn't have any objection to them adding the scene back in, but either way I don't think it's likely that they'll do it. They cut the confession scene and combined it with "No Way Out" because the song's lyrics covered the same points the confession scene did. I don't feel that any meaning was lost; Kenai already established during the fish toss that he'd come to see Koda as a little brother, and "No Way Out" reiterates that with the line " brother bear, I let you down." Later, the point is further driven home by Rutt and Tuke.

Actually, my point is that there should be a solid comfirmaion of the brotherhood before the realization, not so much about it simply being mentioned. Furthermore, because it is an extremely important plot point, the atmosphere must be very focused and so needs to be a physical part of the plot (as opposed to being incorporated into the soundtrack). A song is an accompanyment that echos the message, it cannot displace the proper means of presenting it. I think putting the song there really removed a lot of the weight that was built up earler, and ended up making the whole movie not as powerful overall as it should've been.
as for Rutt and Tuke: well, it just doesn't work with them, let alone what I said earlier about timing.
And also, I'm sure they could easily fit the song into the sequence AFTER the confession, so it shouldn't really be a problem if they do it right.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say, but I thought the relationship was pretty clearly established. Who says that a song can't be the proper means? Musicals operate entirely on this concept; the songs move the story along. They're not just accompaniment. Both points are entirely a matter of personal taste. It may not have worked for you, but it did for me. Easily? They would have to re-animate the entire sequence. Nothing about that is easy.

Err, I guess I wan't being very clear.
But my key point is that hearing the actual confession would have a lot more weight than a song. Specifically, it is Koda's response to Kenai's story just before the harsh truth that made such an overwhelming irony.
And the scene was already fully animated, besides the short segment of the hugging, so they just need to color it and add in the hugging part.

I was referring to the animation during the song itself; if they restored the confession scene and placed the song after it, they would have to completely change the visuals during the beginning of the song, otherwise the confession as we saw it in the movie would become redundant. They can't simply cut from the end of the confession scene, with Koda running away, to the start of No Way Out, where Kenai is just beginning to tell his story. Connecting the two scenes in a coherent way would require one of two things: new animation, or removal of the first verse of the song, cutting directly to the chorus.
I don't know what they originally planned to show during the song when the confession was still a separate scene, but apparently they already felt that it was somewhat redundant; on the DVD, Aaron Blaise said, "Ultimately we decided that these beats, the song and the confession itself, were kind of the same, and that's why we combined them."
Don't get me wrong, I love the confession scene. It's always hard to see something get cut, and I always wish that both versions could have made it somehow. I'll go back a little bit here and concede that it might have made the movie a little bit more powerful if they had kept it in, though I still don't think that the movie suffers any without it; it's just icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.
I just don't think it would be a good idea to change the scene now; whichever version of the scene makes it in, one has to get cut, and I'd prefer not to see the version I already like just fine get replaced by one from the cutting room floor.
Regardless of what either of us think, I don't think Disney is at all likely to do it. They've only done something like this for Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, two of their biggest successes. We're just lucky that they included the deleted scenes on the DVD, and didn't make us wait several years for the special edition, like with Lilo & Stitch.

I would love to see a Blu Ray release of Brother Bear. I can just imagine how it would look like too. I'm sure it will be done cause Brother Bear is almost ten years old now if you can believe that. So, I'm sure by it's tenth anniversary it will come out to Blu Ray.

Heh I have neither a blu-ray player nor playstation 3 (heh it was only this year I finally got a PSP), but I hope you won’t mind if I comment. ^^ I’m not sure if they’ll release it 2013. Rescuers Down Under didn’t get a nice release when it turned 20 last year or for that matter, a blu-ray as far as I know. The tenth anniversaries of Atlantis, Emperor's New Groove, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dinosaur, and Hercules didn't have rereleases either. On the flip side, this is Dumbo’s 70th anniversary; but Lion King’s anniversary is 2014 (released this year) and Beauty and the Beast’s 2011 (released last year). I’m with Epesi; one thing I would add is if they would add more bonus features to it, or repeat the DVD’s features? Their DVDs lately have had less and less features to them. Hey Bartok fan! I loved that movie since it was released, so the DVD was happy for me. I can’t comment on how combos effect a person’s view; the only combo that I wasn’t familiar with the original film was the “Donald Duck in mathland” DVD that came with the “Ducktales” movie rewards. I still haven’t seen it yet. ^^”

Hmm these are sad but real pointer facts you sure do make EP. I have seen a Dinosaur bluray that comes with a DVD copy by a Walmart store around my area.
As for the other movies you listed out, the reason why they haven't gotten them yet is cause Bluray has came around in...2007 I think? I heard about them Bluray first through an commercial for Open Season when it came to DVD and a PSP copy 4 years ago. However, Dumbo and The Fox and the Hound were are the only two Blurays I know that celebrated their 30th and 70th anniversaries we did pointed out before.
What surprises me though is if they are going to re-release a movie on Bluray, it doesn't get to the point of coming out on the right of year. They should of wait and saved The Lion King in 2014, but they didn't wait on Beauty and the Beast a year ago, which is odd news to me.
Hmm...well if Brother Bear does make it past it's 10th anniversary in 2013 and we don't get a Bluray release for it, we'll probably have to wait for another decade before they do that. Maybe for a 20th anniversary in 2023 perhaps?

I'm pretty sure we'll get a Blu-Ray release, it's just a matter of 'when'. I've always been under the impression that Disney re-releases their movies every ten years, but I believe I've been mistaken with that. We'll just have to wait and see, but I doubt we'll see one in 2013.
