Yo guys. Consolidation, new buttons, etc?

Hey guys,

I wanted to let you know that I feel like it could very well be time for another update to these forums. I feel like they deserve it.

1. I want to consolidate some areas of the website, at least so it's easier on the eyes when viewing the home page. Here's what I'm planning.

This cuts down our board count from an enourmous 23 boards on the face of the site to only 13, 10 less than before! I think this would be more organized.

Social threads for each section can be made as well, so people can update each other on general things in each area. A social thread for general discussion for example can be as off topic as anyone wishes, while a social thread for the artsy areas can be a plug area to show updates to your artwork and such in other threads

I'm just thinking of ideas to spring up life in these forums. I really don't like the massive amounts of boards. Suggestions are welcome. If you have a question on what area is what, or what will happen to something on the boards, just ask. Like, the Caption This! goes into the "thread play" section, which will be indicated in the description later.

2. New buttons. Yea, some of these buttons are cool, but I'd like to make even better ones. Also some are missing!

3. New emoticons possibly? Not a priority. But definitely a possibility. I want to do:

NEW Kenai emots
NEW Koda emots
Wolf form Denahi emots
Eagle form Sitka emots
and a few Rutt and Tuke emots

Hmmmm I guess its an intresting idea that is for sure.


Seeing new emotions would be cool,but cutting down some of the boards might make it more cluttered(in my opinion) atleast like this its spaced out and such.


Just my own opinion on this.

I'd prefer you guys make that decision then, these are just ideas. I like a small compact area where I can check some threads multiple times a day for new stuff rather than having to go to 5 different boards for essentially the same thing.

I can keep Brother Bear 1 and 2 seperate on the front page as is.

I REALLY want to consolidate the forum games at the very least, they seem ignored being by themselves at the bottom, etc...

And the rest is totally up to you guys, if you want fanart, fan videos, fan fiction all seperated and on the front page that's fine!

Any suggestions are welcome too.

Hey, Spec. It's good to see you around again!

It'd be grand to have new emotes and icons. It could really bring this place more color and life with the variety.

As for the boards, I suppose it IS due for some re-organizing and such. The General Lobby, Central and Disney's Brother Bear sections could use some re-organization, that's for sure. Maybe just those sections, since IMO the others seem fine enough as they are. Hopefully done in a way where we won't lose any threads and posts. But other than that I'm aboard with your ideas.

Hi, Spec!

I'm all for reducing and simplifying, as our current layout has a lot of redundant and unused boards. I like your proposed new layout almost as-is; for my two cents, there are only two parts I'd do differently:

* I think the roleplay section should stay where it is, rather than merging into the lobby. It's always been a major part of the forum, and merits its own section. It could possibly be pared down to Character Introduction, Roleplay Discussion and one board for IC threads, leaving it up to the thread-starter to specify each RP's setting and canon restrictions (strictly Brother Bear, a bit looser like LWK and Darkness, or completely unrelated to BB), with one subforum for abandoned and completed IC threads.

* I agree with merging the Brother Bear "Fanvideos and projects" board into Fan Art, but I'd prefer Fan Fiction to stay separate so that things don't get too messy in there.

Of course, I'm also all for the new emoticons and buttons.

And there you have it. something to be looking forward to. the "cheezy" icon has been changed to a new icon. It's a work in progress. I can change it back later when I get a change.

The new set will not have animation until I finish it. Time for bed now! lol~ night night

(btw I did this icon in like 30 minutes lol it's still got some work to do... it's pretty messy style if I say so myself. if these are too big I can resize them XP)
