Perhaps they would use a trapdoor (such as the play Seussical used to make the Cat in the Hat appear from every conceivable spot); or perhaps it could happen off-stage with just the sound effect (such as, at least in the production I saw, they did with Oliver!). There would be other problems they would have to encounter: when Sitka appears in the form of an eagle, the entire Transformation sequence, the Valley of Fire, the Salmon Run, the mammoths, etc. I have no doubt that they could find a way to conquer the problems- after all, Broadway has managed to make productions with lion kings, stampedes and ghost scenes, with a beast turning into a prince, with an elephant saving a world on a clover. However (and don't get me wrong, I would love to see it too), I think the biggest problem would be lack of interest for the film. I mean, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King were tremendous hits- the former was nominated for an Academy award and the latter held the title of highest grossing film for nine long years. Brother Bear did well, according to Wikipedia, it grossed $250,036,277 in the box office and $165 million+ in DVD and VHS sales; but I'm not sure if it would be enough to persuade Disney to spend the hundreds of dollars that would be needed to bring the film to the stage. They could, since Jason Raize DID play adult Simba in The Lion King broadway show!

Who knows? People who go around committing suicide are just completely whackos. Makes me totally pissed off just thinking about Jason's death right now.

It's highly unlikely- don't forget, they would have other films and projects they need to do. Thus even if they could bring in the original actors/actresses, it would probably only be for a short time, such as when Rosie O'Donnell played the Cat in the Hat for four weeks in Seussical the Musical. Beyond that, can the actors sing (besides Jeremy Suarez that is ;D ). ;D Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

Well EbonyPatriot, if they really do make a broadway play of Brother Bear, they could get the orignal actors/actresses if they wanted to.
Since Jeremy Suarez sang pretty good singing "On My Way" in the movie, he might be good playing his role again for Koda in the broadway version. As for the others, I'm not sure, but I think Joaquin Phoenix will be good in singing in the Brother Bear broadway show if they cast him as Kenai again.

Ah ah I think you misunderstood my reply. By 'they' I meant the actors themselves. It would be hard for them to do both the show and their other films. Still, I'm sure that Disney would do their best to get replacements that sound as much like the originals as possible. Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

Actually, I don't think finding someone who sounds just like the original actor would be so much their priority as just finding someone who suits the character well enough. For example, Samuel E. Wright, who played Mufasa in The Lion King on Broadway, doesn't sound exactly like James Earl Jones; nor did Jason Raize sound much like Matthew Broderick. Also, the cast may vary significantly in the touring shows; when I saw The Lion King here in Houston, Banzai sounded completely different from the actor in the original Broadway cast, who, in turn, didn't sound a whole lot like Cheech Marin.
