www.bbear.org/sharit/show.phtml?ID=21I made a picture to establish the general appearance of Savik, and for the most part I'm pleased with the result, though it did lose some definition in certain areas when I inked it; the slope of her back in particular looked better in the sketch. The biggest problem, though, is the contrast. That can be changed fairly easily, but I'm a bit hesitant to do that; it took me a long time to decide on the right colors to get a certain feel for the character, and I don't like to tamper with what works, or at least with what seems to work. If all else fails, I'll try silvery-type outlines... So anyway, just some general comments on the contrast would be appreciated, most importantly along the lines of whether or not you can -see- anything.

yea, you're right. on most computers, people will be look at that and see black. BLACK. and then they'll squint their eyes and say OHHH so thats what it is. And then they can't figure out how to adjust their monitor, ect ect... Yes, i definately think you should increase the contrast or something, I definately have to squint my eyes. Believe me, it hurts, I just spent 2 and half hours playing a game from 10 to 12 o'clock midnight, and y eyes are burnin' So yea, do all of us a favor and fix that, or at least let someone else do it for ya. It's not that bad, either. The art itself I mean, whatever I can see of it, anyway

www.bbear.org/sharit/show.phtml?ID=22 *Crosses fingers* Eh, if this one is too dark, I'll flip and call her an albino. Well, not really. I'll probably look into those silver outlines on the next one. It kills me that my monitor goofs everything up, though. I spend ages trying to get colors just right, especially for canon characters--now I don't know if I can trust my monitor when I think I've finally matched Kenai's colors.

it looks good now that i see it. but what I THINK you should of done was make a different color to contrast against the character itself; that way it wouldn't need to be brighter on the whole image. Like say, a a somewhat light blue... I dunno!

Well, I was afraid that a light background would make the details harder to see, but on the other hand the character as a whole does stand out better. Here's the final version. www.bbear.org/sharit/show.phtml?ID=24Heh, I had that "artistic vision" thing going that I really didn't want to let go of--I had the mood of the image all planned out, but in the end, simplicity is probably better. I think I kinda-sorta-maybe know what the BB team went through now. Edit: Eeerk, I thought I'd resized it, but I forgot to click save. Oh well...it's only a little bit bigger than the others...meh.
