Um, hello. (What am Isupposed to say? Don't eat me, please.) My name is Sally, I have plenty of nicknames online, but in English forums I'm usually Ropespinner or The Ropespinner. I haven't joined many forums, so forget about that. I'm from Finland. For the last few weeks, I've been quite obsessed with BB. That's why I joined this forum.
I like drawing and listening to music of almost all kinds, and I enjoy being in nature on my own, thought I am also a computer addict (I know, weird mix). If my English isn't perfect, forgive me. Foreign languages are my weak point, or one of them. I'm trying my best to write correct or at least understandable English.
Hmm, this forum seems to contain plenty of roleplaying. I've never really roleplayed, but I would feel quite interested to try it out.
This is what I call dull and uninspired message. It is definitely a good start.

Oh, this definitely is something new to me. I'm being welcomed by many people! This really is the "Salmon Run" of all forums. usually when I join a forum, nobody notices my introduction post, I never talk to anyone, I never post, etc... I quess I am too shy while online (and while IRL too, I've lived alone in this city, Oulu, for 6 months and I haven't met anyone yet). Since I am somewhat newbie (obivously) around here, and some-more-than-what newbie when it comes to RPing, I would like to ask some questions. This possibly isn't the right thread to do so, but I don't know where else I would ask, so I ask here. If it is against the rules, I quess I'll just be banned and then I won't need to find out, so there should be no problem. Okay, so I would like to know if I need some kind of permission to join RP:s etc... I've read the rules for RPing, I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything idiotistic (other than asking these questions). How do I know which RP:s I am allowed to join and which character I'm supposed/allowed to use? Is there one canon in BB role-plays, or do different RP:s follow different canons (like, for example, in one RP Kenai is with Nadine and in another he is with Nita)? Am I allowed to start a new RP, being newbie and all? //Edit Why aren't original human characters allowed in role-play (that is said in the Character Introduction -whatever-is-it-in-English-thing)?

EDIT (whoops, forgot about the first part of your post): Yes, this is a great board- quite a family feeling to it. ^_^ No, you don't need any formal position (although it's polite to ask the creator before you join) . It is, however, recommended that if you join an existing role-play that read the first ten pages and the last ten pages before posting, just so you have an idea of what it's about. You can join any of them. Any RP in the BB roleplay section has to be limited to the Brother Bear characters, characters that you create that could be in that world, and the Pacific Northwest. The Original roleplay section, however, can be any character, any setting. In both cases, you can't RP a character someone is playing- like, if someone has control of Koda in one of the role-plays, you can't take over him. However, if they aren't claimed in another role-play, you can take him- there's no board-wide claims on the characters. They tend to follow different canons. In Darkness, (my first RP), for example, Kenai is alone (Nita hasn't even appeared); in some of the others, he's with Kia or Nadine. Yep, you can start a new one anytime you want. Just some more notes: they tend to be in present-tense; although they don't have to be- for example, Night Bear prefers to use past tense. It can be in first or third person- you can use whichever you prefer. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Hey, if you want to make your name start with a capitol letter, just edit your name and put a capitol R instead of a lowercase one. that way it'll look like a name.
