I got my information from Wikipedia, so I am not positive if this is true or not. But here's a section I found while reading through a page about The Little Mermaid 3:
So if this information is correct, then Little Mermaid III will be the very last new sequel to come out. There might be others to be released earlier, but once LM3 is out, there'll be no more.
And if this is true, this also means no Brother Bear 3.
Does anyone have anything to say about this? Any doubts?

Hm, I'm not sure that proposal will hold. I mean, sooner or later Disney sequels will come out and they can tend to be quite enjoyable and good news especially to fans who wishes to see their favorite series or movies continue.
I wouldn't trust Wikipedia too much, but it is no mystery that this Disney sequel information is true. However, I have a feeling we'll see more Disney sequels in the future, just scarsely. Sooner or later I guarantee it.

To be honest, I hope that the article is true and there are no more Disney sequels. I liked them for a while, but nowadays I'm annoyed with the sequels. ^^; No offense to those who like them, of course.

I actually quite like BB2 which is a sequal! and I would've hoped that they would make a BB3, but I guess thats out of question then But I agree with you, ken'ichi, some day they will have to continue the classics, in one way or the other.

The Little Mermaid III, Cinderella 3, and Peter Pan 3 are the only thrid sequels Disney has ever created. A lot of the time, they just enjoy making second movies to their classics just to get money. But I agree with Ken'chi, I wouldn't trust Wikipedia too. Most of the time they're never right. And I don't ever plan on watching a Brother Bear 3 if it's going to have Nita in it again. But if Brother Bear 3 is anything like The Lion King 1 1/2, I wouldn't mind seeing that. It be fun if BB3 was like that, say like Rutt and Tuke were showing where they were the whole entire time just like they show where Timon and Pumbaa where during the whole Lion King movie.

As I've stated before, there is no reason to not watch something just because of one character. One character is not a big deal.
And anyway, I would hate a BB movie like TLK 1/2. I hated that movie. Sorry, and no offense, but I would not like a movie centering around Rutt and Tuke.

Yeah, i hated that one. And I'm writing BB3, and I WILL send it into Disney, no matter what they say.

I don't think they will stop you from sending it. However, this does not mean they will make it into a movie. Remember, Disney is a huge, and I mean HUGE, company.

WIkiepdia's not always wrong- (they were right about the Warriors books) but of course they aren't always right either. I don't know what to think about this. Although I think they've finally hitting their stride (Bambi 2 and BB2 weren't bad and Cinderella III I'm looking forwards to), I'm glad that they plan on stopping before having making more sequels/prequels to movies that don't add anything to the original. I wonder though: does this mean there will be more thearical sequels? LK 1 1/2 was basicially a parody of LK, which one might say they already did for BB, in the commentary. Although I personally liked TLK 1 1/2 I wouldn't care for them to do the same thing for BB3- it's been done. Actually, Eddi, fans could make a version of BB3; although they could never release to theatres or try to make any profit from it. Some of the Balto fans have started their own Balto IV trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=i800FRsAbvQAnd Jotah, there's always the chance they might accept it. I don't know Disney's policy on fan-made scripts, but as the webmaster of Rugrats Online says: Quote (c) to Rugrats Online. -EbonyPatriot

Yes, but the chance will be slim. It's there, yes, so you can still try. But do not become overconfident Jotah. And if your script is rejected, do not feel discouraged. If you go to college and take classes in animation and in writing and graduate, and you find a job at Disney, you could have a second chance at getting the script animated, and your odds will be greatly improved at this point.

You know. That idea of our own Fan-based BB3 movie could be a good idea. Quite a few members have their own art galleries and have come a long way in their talents. Maybe we could make our own?

You mean like Digimon FDD? It was a huge project started years ago that was finally finished last year I think. It was a collaboration too. Maybe, if Jotah's script is rejected, we could do something like this: www.injenn.net/~foximon/DigimonFDD/

That says just direct to video, doesnt mean that they wont stop making sequels and pushing for a theater release...so there is still hope on some sequels...plus if the fans push it enough they might even be forced to make a DTV sequel oh well... thats just my 2 cents worth

I'm not too sure if I'd like to see more sequels, to be honest.
