Well, yesterday I had all my four wisdom teeth taken out. To be honest I was expecting something much worse, but I felt better when I realized they gave me anesthesia and I slept the whole thing through. In the blink of an eye I was in and out of the operation.
And now I'm at home recovering, not fun. I'm sore, sometimes I'm aching, and I gotta eat soft things and nothing solid. What a bore and pain. Every 15 minutes or so I gotta apply packets of ice on my cheeks to help me soothe the pain and occasionally rinse to wash away the blood that I'm bleeding in my mouth.
But at least I'm out of this, now those teeth won't bother me again. They've been bothering me during my vacation at Denver and I finally got those little buggers out. Good riddance.
Ow... *Rubs my cheek* Shouldn't talk much...

Aww, I'm glad to hear that! Relief is a wonderful thing. My Brother got his Wisdom teeth pulled long ago. After seeing him in such agony, I've never wanted an operation like that! But my Mother wants to remove the group of three teeth at the left of my Mouth! AHH! - Little preacher man.

Having wisdom teeth taken out is a pain, yes. I've had mine taken out so I understand what you're going through Keni. But the bright side is the pain will go away and it'll be like nothing had happened. ^^ I hope you feel better soon.

Yikes! Well, at least they won't bother you anymore! I can't imagine what it's like, but hopefully the pain will be gone before you know it! But I have a question, why does it seem that everybody gets their wisdom teeth taken out? I mean... surely they're there for a reason.. o.O

People get their wisdom teeth taken out because, due to the small size of the human jaw, the wisdom teeth can cause a host of problems, including extreme pain and rotting of some molars.

Ack. x.x My brother needs to get his pulled soon, too. I don't know when I'll need it, but I suspect it'll be in a year or two. Frankly, I wish I could get it over with sooner rather than later, but I don't seem to have any problems yet.
The recovery process certainly sounds aggravating. I hope you feel better as soon as possible. ^^

I had my only wisdom tooth taken out last year, and it wasn't entirely bad. I also had to take painkillers as well for about a week, and they did help relieve the pain. I'm lucky that I didn't have 2, 3, or 4 wisdom teeth to have removed; otherwise, I would felt even more miserable. For a while, I had a small hole in my gums where my wisdom tooth used to be, and sometimes little pieces of food (like a piece of popcorn) would get stuck in there. It got very annoying to try to get it out with my tongue. Sometimes I would need to get a pair of tweezers to get the piece of food out. I did try my best to eat small pieces of food like popcorn and chips in a way so that I wouldn't get any small pieces in the hole, but now that my gums filled up the hole, I don't have to worry about it anymore.

OMG I so hated that when it happened, Renton XD Everyone suggested to keep food from getting in there to avoid any infection or anything, so everytime I finished eating I would rinse my mouth with water and warm salt water (Bleck) to kill any infection and then have my grandma or myself use a pair of tweezers to get the remaining food out of there. It was so annoying doing it after every meal, especially when you still had the stitches, they would get in the way and I always got goosebumps or something everytime I touched them with my tongue.
Thankfully it's all over now, nothing more to worry about.

Eh, that definately doesn't sound like fun. I'm still crossing my fingers, being in my twenties, that mine are just never gonna cause problems since apparently by this age they would have grown in *shrugs*
I don't do well with pain myself so my condolences and get better soon

On a somewhat related note, my bottom left wisdom tooth is coming in and is starting to bug me. Looks like I could be in for something like this in a couple of years... XD

Oh, yes! I know exactly what you mean!
I had my two top molars removed. They were causing severe pain, growing more painful everyday. Surprisingly, we had the check up, consultation, and surgery within only three days. The quickest dentist appointment time-frame so far!
I remember the dentist telling me to squeeze a ball, then before I knew it--in a split second!--the operation was finished. I awoke to the dentist's assistant looking down at me, she telling me, "All right, come on!" It was over. As I stood up, a little dizzy, goz was packed in my mouth. It was incredible! Our prayers for a quick, painless operation were answered, and now the tooth pain is history! ^_^ God is good! (Though, the next target are my wisdom teeth! *Yikes!*)

Even here there are people suggesting that you should pull your wisdom teeth's out, I've got two of them, both on the lower part of my jaw. But it's the right one that is hurting me allot recently.
It thought, I should have them with a reason, it's not that they are "useless" so I haven't been to the dentist yet to ask his opinion, I just want to cure them hehe. The whole idea of pulling teeth's out, is scaring me. Now, when there is this little piece of food between my wisdom teeth and my cog, ARR it's hurting allot.
Another two weeks, if the pain hasn't dissapeared until than, I'm going to look for a solution. Now I'm washing my mouth with this product called: Bocasan, it helps, but only to paralyze it somewhat.
I hope that you all are recoverd, and not having any problems with them anymore.
