One thing that's been bothering me about Brother Bear 2 is who's who? By that I mean, which of the minor characters are which? The voices help me cut down most: Anda (voiced by Anrea Martin) would be the dark-colored moosette who ends up with Tuke. Kata (voiced by Catherine O'Hara) would be the paler moosette who ends up with Rutt. Aunt Siqiniq (voiced by Wendie Malick) would the woman dressing Nita with blue-grey clothes. Aunt Taqqiq (voiced by Kathy Najimy) would the woman dressing Nita with reddish clothes. Now we enter the gray area. Jim Cummings voices both the raccoon leader and Nita's father; the credits list them as Bering and Chilkoot. My question is: which one is which? I think that Nita's father might be Chilkoot, just because in the original story for the novel Kenai's father had a similar name (I can't find my copy of Brother Bear: A Transformation Tale). That would leave Bering to be raccoon leader. But I don't know, which is why I'm asking your opinons. Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

After watching BB2, I can finally tell which one was Nita's aunts including Rutt and Tuke's love internests in the sequel but I was wondering which one was Chilkoot and Bering too. Since Jim Cummings play a lot of disney characters in most of the disney films he's been in, I'm guessing you're right; maybe Chilkoot is Nita's father cause they didn't explain all of the character's names that much in the sequel expect for Nita.
Since Nita's father had that more soft gently fatherly side to him, I'm guessing he's Chilkoot and Bering is the racooon leader. It took me a while to figure that out after seeing BB2. But I don't understand why they would reuse Chilkoot's name in the movie since he was orginally going to be Kenai's father in the first movie, but got replaced.

Good question... Bering is a travelers name, french i think and Chilkoot is a passage for some miners and other side in the klondike era so... Bering is a Person and Chilkoot is a passage..dont know if it helps any
there seems to be no definition nor translation to find for either name...i dont know if we will know though unless you get in contact of Jim himself or get hold of the script
