OBJECTION!!!
Has anyone here played the great text-based Ace Attorney series on the Nintendo DS? Mad fun as you play as Phoenix Wright, a defense attorney who just has the bad luck of taking bizzare murder cases and ending up with a quirky cast of characters.
Not only that, but he also has the luck of finding himself facing ridiculous prosecutors like Franziska Von Karma, a woman who always brings a whip to court and freely whips anyone she wishes without getting in trouble. Prosecutor Godot, an enigmatic man who apparently wants to replace his soul with 17 cups of coffee every case he takes. And once with the evil Manfred Von Karma, who you'll swear it's the Devil himself with his demonic "Objection!" voice and his loud finger snap that could even wake Sleeping Beauty without the need of a kiss.
The game really makes you think and analyze the case in hand by looking over evidence and pointing out contradictions in witness' testimonies with the evidence at hand. But sometimes it's always fun to intentionally guess wrong just to see what comical shenanigans will unfold to your punishment (Along with a nice penalty to your 'health' bar).
The trilogy is already out for the Nintendo DS with a fourth game focusing on brand new characters coming soon early next year.

I'm already on the third game of the trilogy, so yes, it's very addicting. The second one was kinda bad though. First was best so far.

Franziska was awesome with her whip and foolish rants. And the fourth case was just epic (Fourth case of the first one was the most epic though).

I picked it up today and I gotta say it really is fun. I was so nervous at the start just like Phoenix but was able to win the case with flying colors! Paws up for this game! Wooo!! ;D

Glad to hear you're joining the Ace Attorney bandwagon, Truttle! Also keep an eye out for pop-culture references in the game, there are a lot of them scattered about XD
TIP: When in Phoenix's office, choose to examine the bookshelf and plant at around case 3 through 5, you'll get a kick at some of the things Phoenix has to say about them XD

Omg a topic *squeal* "Look Nick! A ladder!" "It's a STEPLADDER!" I just recently got into this series and it is SO addicting. I played 1, 3 and 4 now. Waiting for the 2nd game to arrive from ebay and watching to buy the 5th one x3 The FANDOM is amazing. It's so crackish. Awesome if you turn a blind eye on all the Yaoi xD My fav cases are 1-4 and 3-5 so far... Apollo Justice was epic... the trailer got me thrilled to it and I think it's underrated, but it was a lot easier. I wasn't really stuck in this game for a while. I just... rushed through.

Hahah, the obligatory ladder joke! XD
Glad to hear more people who loves the series. I agree Levy, it's mega addicting and epic. Unfortunately I still have yet to play Apollo Justice and Investigations, but I'm just dying to!

The fandom is a little split up concerning Apollo Justice... and it did feel a little weird. But it surprised me positively towards the end and it has some brand new amazing features to play with =) So if you watch it from this aspect you fully enjoy it. Of course, as many others, I did miss some of the older characters however, without spoiling much - but the gameplay makes up perfectly for it, and if you play until the end you get rewarded x3

Holy crap, I'm posting. I haven't played these games yet, but I've been meaning to for ages. D: I've been thinking of getting the Wii ports since I don't do that much handheld gaming anyway, and hey, instant satisfaction. XD The musical is actually a major incentive for me to finally play the game, because I really want to listen to it, and I don't think I'd fully appreciate it without playing first. I have listened to one song already ("The Samurai Always Wins", because it was recommended on TV Tropes), and it was fantastic. I'm a huge fan of TriforceBun. ;D I also think it's completely awesome that the musical has been officially recognized by Capcom! It's wonderful to see a fan work receive such an honor from the company.

A fan musical? I'm pretty sure there's an official Phoenix Wright musical show out there. Although I'm not familiar/aware of a FAN musical.
