OOC: Sorry for forgetting this one. I’ll start it again now that I can post regularly from my computer again.
BIC: We were riding on the mammoths, when suddenly a cub comes up beside the mammoths and calls up to us.
"Hi! Where are you going? If it is the salmon run can I go with you?"
The cub climbed on one of the mammoths. Koda eagerly welcomed the new cub. The cub introduced herself as Kia, then asked us our names. Koda gave his name, then pointed to me and gave her my name. Koda then asked me if it was alright if Kia could come along.
“Well sure she can come along! It’s no trouble at all! The more the better!”
I didn’t mind letting Kia come along but I wondered why she was alone.
“Are you alone Kia? Is someone waiting for you at the salmon run too?”
I wasn't sure what she would respond but figured maybe I could ask and waited for Kia’s response.

"My parents died, too," I say softly. I smile, "But at least I have my big brother, Kenai!"

Kia said that her parents had died and she was separated from her little sister. Koda said his parents had died too but smiled, saying that at least he had his big brother Kenai.
“Oh. I didn’t know. I’m sorry I brought that up.”
I felt bad for having made Kia recall her parents. It would be hard for her to be alone since she was still a cub. I wanted to help her out.
“I don’t know if you would want to, but if you like, after we find your sister and Koda’s big brother, I could watch after you and your sister, I could be your adoptive big brother if that would be alright with you. I’d be glad to help you out too Koda. Just in case your brother would need some assistance. It’s good to have some help when needed.”
"Yeah," I agree.

Seems that my suggestion went well with them. I was glad. I wouldn’t want them to have to deal with such hardships alone. I’ll make sure they stay safe. In the meantime we rode on the mammoths, I was still a bit uneasy but having fun. I was enjoying myself so much that it took a while to realize that I wasn’t sure which direction we were traveling in. I had such a short attention span that I totally forgot that we should have been going to the salmon run. It also doesn’t help when I have a bad memory and can tend to get lost sometimes.
“Um Koda, Kia. I think we’ve lost track a bit. I was so distracted that now I’m not exactly sure about where we are. But don’t worry. We have plenty of time to make it to the salmon run. Why don’t we get off the mammoths and catch some fish to eat, relax a bit, then see if we can find our way back to the trail.”

We all climbed off of the mammoths. I looked around a bit to take a better look at my surroundings.
“Okay. The river we were crossing while riding the mammoths should have fish in it. Let’s go to the river. I’ll catch us some fish.”
We walked back to the river. I scanned the water from the riverbank to look for fish. When I spotted some I jumped in and caught one then two. I tossed them over to Koda and Kia.
“Here you go. Eat up. Maybe you two can talk among yourselves while I keep catching some more fish for us. Afterwards we’ll see if we can backtrack and pick up from where we left off.”
Truttle and Kia pad up to the land. Truttle says, “Okay. The river we were crossing while riding the mammoths should have fish in it. Let’s go to the river. I’ll catch us some fish.”
We walk back to the river. Truttle scans the riverbank for fish. He sees some and catches two. He tosses them to Kia and me. I catch the fish in my mouth.

"Ok," I nod while biting into my fish. I look at Kia, "So, what do you want to talk about?

"I don't know." I reply.

"I don't know," Kia replies.
"Well, where are your parents?" I ask her, eating more of my fish.

"Well, where are your parents?" Kirchy asks Kia, eating more of her fish.
Kia sighs. "They are dead." She replies.
