Okay, so I'm hoping this thread can get us listening to music other than what we normally listen to - perhaps get everyone into some new stuff! Instructions: 1. Listen to the last song someone posted. 2. Develop an opinion on it. 3. Rate it on a scale of 1-10. 4. Post a link to a song you like/want rated. Note: you MUST provide a song to be rated if you take part, otherwise the game falls apart. So, to get the ball rolling, I'll post a song first. Next person to post rates it, posts their own song, and so on. Phantom Of The Opera - Nightwish

That was pretty cool! Being a person who judges a song highly on the instrumentals for a song, I'd say I liked it and rate it a 7 out of 10. =3 Here's mine. An oldie. =3 www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFTLKWw542g

Heh, that song is only a few months younger than I am. :3 I give it an 8; I have a real soft spot for '80s - '90s music and I love Billy Joel. ;D Okay, here's one of my favorites: Chorus - Erasure. The video...is...I recommend listening to the song without watching the video if it's your first time hearing it. XD I've known of this song for about ten years, but I'd never actually seen the video until just now; I found it hilarious, but I don't think it suits the song at all.

I'm not so much into that style of music, but I liked the lyrics very much. ^^ I'd say.. 7. Here is The Voice by Celtic Woman. I get chills when I listen to it.. <3

Ooh, that's very nice! I love Celtic-style music; I give that song a 9. That reminded me a little of another singer I like, so here's my next one: Umbra Nihili - Aeone. Fun fact: this was sort of the theme song for my character Savik, as I listened to it a lot and drew inspiration from it while developing her. :3

Epic win! Cool concept, well executed and catchy to boot, and I love so many of those films. <3 I have to give it a 10. Break It Down Again - Tears for Fears This is the first song I can remember regarding as my favorite. I was four years old, and I asked my mom to rewind the cassette tape to play it over and over. XD

I like this better than the Cascada version. I'll give this 8. This is Hazy Shade of Winter by Simon&Garfunkel. It used to be my favourite song some years ago; it holds special memories - and I love that rhythm of the drums and the tambourine. ^^

Hm, I'd give it...maybe...I'm a little torn between a 6 or a 7. I liked the sound of it, and yet it didn't really grab me or stick with me. I'll rate it a 6, but I may check out some of the band's other songs. Chaos - Herbert GrönemeyerI don't speak any German and I'm not really familiar with any of Herbert Grönemeyer's music aside from this song; my mom does speak German and she used to play this singer's albums a lot when I was younger. I always loved this song, though I don't understand the words apart from, of course, "chaos". XD I actually discover a lot of great music that I might otherwise never hear of thanks to my mom and her widely varied tastes.

I can't really share my feelings about the actual content of the song, because I don't understand much of what he's saying. His singing is good and fierce, and the snaredrum in the beat gives the song an 80s feeling. Whether this is a good or bad thing is personal preference. I'm going for 6. Just Be (Antillas Club Mix) - TiestoA great DJ with a lot of fans that travel all over the world to be able to see him. He's been the world's greatest DJ for many years and in my opinion he still is. The DJ scene is dominated by Dutch DJ's, so I guess I should at least be happy another Dutch DJ currently holds the #1 spot. Anyway, this is one of the more commercial club tracks of his, but I still think it's a pretty nice song.
