I've been wanting to try this for a while, and finally I figured there's no time like the present. ;D Is anyone up for a game of Eat Poop You Cat?
For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, don't be put off by its name. It's often compared to the telephone game, in which a story changes through retelling; in this case, a simple idea changes in generally humorous ways through interpretation. Here's how it works:
It continues in that pattern, illustrating captions and captioning illustrations, until all players have contributed something, and it always ends on a sentence rather than a picture.
Now, if you're thinking you can't play because you're not an artist, stop right there. Artistic skill is not important at all in this game. It's perfectly okay to draw stick figures with a mouse in MS Paint. Since the whole idea is for the next person to try to interpret your drawing with humorous results, "bad" art can even make the game better. You can put as much or as little effort into the drawing as you like, really; the important thing is to have fun with it. It's a game, after all.
Here's a good example of the end result of a short game (albeit one with uncommonly good art by EPYC standards). Also, click "Help" in the upper right of that page to see some helpful guidelines, and maybe a better description than the one I just gave. XD
Playing it on a forum is a little different than playing it in person, of course. We'll have to use the PM system to maintain secrecy; there's no point if you know the caption behind the picture you're looking at. Once a round is completed, all the captions and pictures can be posted for everyone to see and hopefully have a few laughs. As a result, it's much slower-paced than a typical play-by-post forum game, but it should be a lot of fun.
I think the best way to handle it is the way I saw it done on another forum: one person will manage the game each round, preferably switching managers between rounds to share the duties. I'll manage the first round to get us started. The manager will start the round off by sending a sentence to the first player (probably chosen at random; there's a freeware program called The Hat that's good for this); the first player will draw their picture and send it back to the manager, who will send it on to the next person, and so on.
Post here if you want to play, and if we get a good group of players then we can get started. ;D

- The first person writes down a sentence; it can just about anything, from the ordinary to the absurd, but it should be fairly short and descriptive.
- The second person is given this sentence and must draw a picture that represents it.
- The third person is given only the picture, and must try to interpret the scene and then write their own sentence about it.
It continues in that pattern, illustrating captions and captioning illustrations, until all players have contributed something, and it always ends on a sentence rather than a picture.
