Okay. I want an active place to talk about Disney's animated masterpieces in general. So far, the net hasn't provided me with such a site. I've only found active forums of seperate movies. So what I want to do is: make a new site, call it disneyanimationforums.com and go advertise my ass off to make it active! I'm going to make a homepage (with it's own layout and everything), build an SMF forum and completely customise it's template, advertise on a lot of other communities and perhaps work together with the Disney-Club group on deviantART, and get posting! ;D So... what do you guys think. Would you join such a site/be active on it? It might be a great opportunity to revive discussions of the less recent movies. Please give me some feedback. Help is welcome too!

I think it's a good idea. A hub for everyone to talk about every Disney movie out there, I can see a lot of Disney fans grouping in said forum to talk about their favorite movies.

This is an ambitious project) But I believe you'll do it and wish you success in your work Purely technical question - why SMF?

Because a lot of American forums are SMF. People are used to it. The last time I made a forum, I introduced it in PHPBB, which resulted in people complaining about not feeling as much at home there, and not being able to get used to it. I personally prefer vBulletin and PHPBB, but if it's what the people want, I'll go with SMF. mock, it's not going to be a directory index that links to forums of specific movies. It's going to be ONE forum, with me as admin.

Czarine you do not understand my idea is 1 Admin (you) and anothers moderator (or co-adm) to manage every part of the forum, 1 prt section. This other forum I never heard about it. I preffer vBulletin, but its so expansive =x

OK) Yeah, SMF is good forum (: I also like PunBB, because it is simple script and has clean code, therefore it is easy to write modules for it)

When it comes to projects like this I also prefer PHPBB, but I'm co-admin/developer of a handful other forums that use vBulletin and I absolutely love it too. mock, ah I see. I don't really know who I'm going to take as moderators though. I might take Global Moderators, but as soon as we get more active, board specific moderators might be a good idea too. Also, I just became 'Full-Fledged Individual' ,weeee!

Nice idea! I'm afraid I can't give much useful comments, but good luck with this, anyway. ^^ I'm sure there will be lots of people willing to join and discuss. Would you join such a site/be active on it? I won't promise anything but I'll think about it.

Awesome. I've asked around on several other forums, and I can see the potential. As soon as I get the cash to pay for another hosting+domain package, this is going to happen. ;D

That would be a nice offer, if I would run a lot of sites, but unfortunately I don't (1 at this moment). So I'm just going to stick to the €2,- a month package I use for my current site, and order it a second time for disneyanimationforums.com  It includes: - 3gb storage (which is more than enough, I can put dozens of forums on that) - 60gb bandwith (again, more than enough) - 1 domain - unlimited amount of mysql databases. - unlimited email accounts. - advanced antivirus and anti-spam - daily back-ups - and the list goes on... Don't worry about the hosting package, it's all going to be fine. ^^;
