Name- Mingan
Meaning- "Gray Wolf"
Origin- Native American
Gender- Male
Species- Human-turned-gray timber wolf
Age- 22
Status- Lone wolf
Personality- Mingan is a quiet observer who suffers in silence. He rarely lets anyone know when he's hurting. His quiet manner is often misunderstood and some see him as being aloof and indifferent. He is very sensitive and has a deep love in his heart for children--both human and animal.
Human Appearence- Native American; blue eyes; wears a gray fur cloak; carries a wolf totem around his neck as well as a whistle carved out of a deer's antler, Native American beads, and two linked rings symbolizing the friendship between him and his mother
Wolf Appearence- Timber wolf; blue-gray fur; blue eyes; lighter fur on ears, muzzle, legs, paws, and belly; wears the same things around his neck as he does when human
Biography- Mingan grew up in an Inuit village at the foot of the place where the lights touch the earth. He and his mother share a special bond that cannot be broken and, after his father had disappeared, it was up to Mingan to be the guardian of his family--his mother and younger brother.
Tragedy struck when a freak avalanche consumed the village and Mingan became separated from his family. Blaming himself, he went up the mountain with every intention of ending his own life, fearing all he had to live for was already gone anyway. Consumed with hatred for his own soul, he was determined. However, before he could complete what he had set out to do, he was transformed into a wolf.
Now he lives his life, seeing the world from a four-legged perspective, through the eyes of a creature who must possess some amount of love for itself in order to be able to care for its pack. Perhaps one day, forgiveness will find him somewhere down his path and he will learn to love himself, but more than he hopes to become human again, he hopes that maybe...just maybe...his family is still alive out there somewhere.
Notes- His family is still alive. They survived the avalanche and fled the devastation, thinking Mingan had been killed. They are still out there somewhere. Mingan just doesn't know it yet.
