Denaik finds it hard to stay in a grumpy mood as his new friends surround him. He smirks at the raccoon's remark. "Wouldn't we all?" He comments to the raccoon's yawn. "Anyways, what are these stories that Koda's talking about? I've never heard of this pastime before."
As Kenai heard Koda talking about sharing stories, he thought about his talk with Nita. He realized that he haddn't shared something with her, but he knew this wasn't the right time to do it...*No more secrets, right?* He thought to himself, gathering up his courage for later.

Footpad shrugs. "Hey, don't look at me. I dunno what goes on at these bear shindigs; this is my first one." He scratches an ear absently. "I don't see what the kid's so excited about. He told stories almost all the way here."
He looks to Kirchy for the answer. "What about you, kid? Have you ever been to one of these?"
---
While Koda is talking to Tug, Nita takes these moments to admire the scenery. The river is vast, the full view obscured from her position by rock formations; she can hear the countless waterfalls beyond her sight. The sound takes her back to Hokani Falls, watching the equinox with Kenai. She closes her eyes to take it in, smiling slightly.

"Yep," Kirchy says in response to Footpad's question. "I've been to one before. On a particular night, all the bears get together to tell about the most exciting thing that happened to them during the year. Oh, and there's a salmon tale that the speaker holds. When he's done telling the story, he throws it to another bear. It's quite fun, actually." She smiles slightly.

"Oh." Was all Denaik said, not sure of how to take this new information. Sure it might be fun sharing stories with the other bears, but what would he tell them? He thought about what he had done all year and nothing worth telling came to mind. He sighed.
"Hey." Kenai walked over to Nita. "Beautiful isn't it?" He said sitting down next to her. "I remember last year here. It was great. All the bears here are just one big family." This memory brought back a bittersweet feeling. It had been great, but it had also been terrible...

Tug replied "Sorry Koda, but Bucky isn't here yet. I don't think you'll have to wait long though, he and his mother are usually early to the Salmon run too. I think they'll be here in a day or two."

Nita opens her eyes to look at Kenai, smiling. "It is beautiful," she agrees. There's a touch of sadness to her thoughts, too; she thinks wistfully of her own family, remembering their gatherings and celebrations. Sitting around the campfire, telling stories...
"I can't wait to meet the rest of them." And to catch up with familiar faces from the wedding. Remembering one, she turns back to Tug, slightly curious. "So, Tug -- how is Hoonah?"
---
Footpad tilts his head to one side. "Ah. So, you're throwin' a dead fish around...and you gotta catch it to tell your story, right?" He glances at the other bears -- particularly Tug -- trying to picture the scene: a bunch of grizzlies batting around a half-eaten salmon, competing for their turn at a captive audience. "Sounds...interesting."

Koda sighs, disappointed that his best friend hasn't made it to the salmon run yet. He yawns and walks back over to Kenai and Nita. As he gets there, Kenai smiles at him.
"How ya holding up, Koda?" He asks, noting how tired the cub looks. It had been a long day for him.
"Just fine." He says, trying to cover another yawn up with his paw. Koda lays down, facing Tug.
"Mm-hmm. I'm sure." Kenai says, knowing that Koda will be out in a few minutes.

Tug rubbed the day of his head as he said "Uh, well-".
"Oh Tug!" faintly cut in a female voice that was like warm ray of sunlight which came from far away. Down stream a bear was waving to Tug, apparently the one who had called to him. The bear was smaller than Tug, but not by much and was rather stocky. She had mahogany colored fur that slightly darken around her eyes and down her limbs. "Oooh Tuuug..." playfully called the bear.
Tug waved to the bear and called "Hey Hoonah come talk with us, there's some animals I want you to meet" before turning back to the group, he was smiling. The bear called Hoonah ambled up the river bank to the group. "Kenai!, Nita!" said the Hoonah as she arrived by Tug's side, "You just get to the salmon run?"
OOC: I'll play Hoonah, but if someone really wants to roleplay her just let me know ^^.

"Hey Hoonah." Kenai said, smiling. "This is Kirchy, Footpad and Denaik. They've been traveling with us since this morning. And you already know Nita and Koda." Kenai gestured to Nita and Koda as he said their names.
"Hi, Hoonah." Koda said, yawning largely again. He set his head down, his eyelids drooping dangerously.
"I think Koda and I are going to turn in for the night." Kenai said, picking up Koda by the scruff of his neck.
"But I'm not *YAWN* tired! I'm awake, see?" Koda said, shaking his head, trying to wake up.
"See you guys in the morning." Kenai said to everyone through a mouthful of fur. He walked back into the woods, ignoring Koda's protests and looked for a spot to sleep.

Nita smiles at the approaching bear. "Hi, Hoonah!" she greets in return. "Yes, we just arrived. How are you?"
Footpad, who had jumped behind Denaik at the sudden arrival of another large bear, now sidesteps into view again, straightening out his fur and grinning nervously. He gives a small wave when Kenai introduces him. "Eheh...hey there, miss. And big guy," he acknowledges Tug, as he didn't properly do so before.
Nita is slightly taken aback when Kenai decides to turn in for the night. It's still so early.
"Oh...but I thought you were hungry." She's confused -- Kenai was complaining rather vocally about his hunger back on the road -- and a little disappointed. "Well, good night," she calls, trying not to let it show. "I think I'll stay up a while."
"Eh, forget him," says the raccoon cheerfully. "I'm still up for dinner, babe." He's not really flirting, just...being Footpad. And a little drowsy. Nita looks at him with one brow raised.

Kenai placed Koda in nearby cave, and laid down beside him. It was still somewhat early, and Kenai wasn't really that tired. His stomach growled. He looked over at Koda, who had fallen asleep on the small trip to the cave. Snoring peacefully, Koda dreamed of what tomorrow would bring. Kenai sighed and made his way back to the others.
Denaik was the first to see Kenai.
"I thought you and Koda went to sleep?" He asked teasingly.
"I was only going to turn in because Koda was tired, but I'm too hungry to sleep." He joked back.
He came up beside Nita. "Hi, again." He said, nuzzling her cheek. His stomach growled again. "So...how about dinner?"

Tug waved to the small raccoon, glad that he was acting much calmer now.
Hoonah replied warmheartedly "I'm good Nita" and she smiled at the little raccoon's reply at his introduction.
Tug smiled as Koda yawned saying "Hi, Hoonah." The little cub kept trying to prove that he wasn't sleepy to Kenai, but just only showed how tired he was. Eventually Kenai picked up the cub and said "See you guys in the morning" although it was muffled by fur in his mouth. "He-he goodnight Koda, goodnight Kenai." said Tug as the two walked away although he was certain that Koda hadn't heard him.
A little while later Kenai emerged back through the brush, although without Koda in toe. He nuzzled Nita and said "Hi, again". The bear's stomach let out a grown, "So...how about dinner?" asked Kenai. Tug laughed and walked over to Kenai then wrapped his paw around the bear's shoulder. "My thoughts exactly Kenai." agreed Tug.

Nita smiles back. "Sounds good to me."
She laughs lightly at Tug's response; he makes Kenai look so small beside him. Under different circumstances she could have easily been afraid of the massive grizzly, but knowing him as a friend it's hard to imagine fearing him.
Of course, it's not so hard for Footpad to imagine. He suppresses a shudder as Tug wraps a paw that looks larger than the raccoon himself around Kenai. It almost makes him forget his hunger. Almost.
"Uhh, yeah. Same here."

Denaik rubbed his stomach at the thought of food. His encounter with Tug had almost made him lose his appetite, but now it was back with reinforcements. He shook his head as he walked to the river, trying to rid it of his folly.
Kenai headed in the direction of the river, trying to remember the technique for catching fish. He practiced by swiping at the ground, but he tripped and nearly ran headfirst into a tree.
"Great time to go to sleep, Koda..."

Kirchy slowly stood up and stretched. She was getting pretty tired herself, but she didn't want to go to sleep until she had something to eat. She padded lightly towards the river.
