OOC: Hey um, is it okay if I leave this RP for awhile? 'Cause I've been thinking lately, and I don't think I'm ready for this. From what I've read in the last few posts, you two are better roleplayers than me...

OOC: Hey, don't be discouraged. Do what you want to do. Thanks for telling us, though. BIC: Nita looks very puzzled indeed. From what she can see, it seems that Kenai's gone sticking his head into animal dens again, but why is Koda crying? She just stares, trying to figure out what to say -- specifically, where to start. During this exchange, the raccoon has scurried away and up a tree; now he clings to a branch, heart still pounding with terror. He shouts in indignation. "That's right, you think twice before you mess with the Bandits! I've got family, you know. They take care of their own. They don't like it when punks like you..." he trails off. Something is nagging at him. He scratches at an ear. "You look familiar. Have you tried to eat me before?" "It was more like the other way around," grumbles Nita. That triggers the raccoon's memory. He grins at the thought of it. "Thaat's right, I remember. The Boss went to your wedding."

OOC: Demia, if you want to keep roleplaying, go right ahead this is my first time RPing too, so it's a learning experience, if not, thanks for telling us in advance BIC: Kenai Far from being invisible, I hear everyone talking about me and my blunder... I feel an obligation to tell Nita the truth. I suck in a deep breath and start to explain everything that happened to Nita... "So I was washing my cut lip out in the stream when I thought about how Koda had given me this cut lip, so I went after him to play a prank on him, and I found him walking into a cave. I snuck up to the mouth of the cave, and when Koda was running out of it, I jumped out in front of the mouth and roared at him. I didn't know it would make him start crying! So as I was conformting Koda, this raccoon comes out of nowhere and interrupts Koda and I, so I tried to scare him by picking him up and growling at him, but he starts flailing all over my snout...and that's where you came rushing into here...It's all my fault!" I said this all very fast and with elaborate paw gestures. At the end it was all I could do to keep from crying. This day had just shoved me from one bad situation to another.

At the end of the story, Nita is silent for a few moments. She can only think of one thing to say. "What possessed you to scare the raccoon? You know what they do when they're cornered!"
When she sees the look on his face, though, she decides not to press it any further. The scratches should serve as enough of a lesson. She sighs. "Let's just...get some breakfast and then rest. I found some berries back this way..."
The raccoon isn't quite finished, however. "Came outta nowhere, huh? Hey, I was in that cave first, pal. You bears think you own the forest..." his ranting soon dies down to a disgruntled muttering. He's too tired to deal with this. He should've been asleep hours ago, but certain misfortunes of his own made for a long night; he'd had to lay low in that cave until well past sunrise.

I started to retort to the raccoon, but thought better of it when I saw that Koda was already fast asleep. All of that crying must've really taken it out of him...
I turn to the raccoon. "I'm sorry for what I did you Mr.Raccoon. Me and my friends will promise to leave your area of the woods first thing tomorrow morning if you let us spend the night in your cave..." I knew it was an abrupt condition, but right now all I wanted was for this day to be over...Maybe if I woke up tomorrow my bad luck would go away...

The raccoon's ears prick up with surprise at the sudden change in the bear's demeanor. He tries to suppress a grin, choosing not to mention the fact that he doesn't actually own the cave or the surrounding territory. He's suddenly being treated with respect, and he's not going to give that up a moment sooner than he has to.
"Hmm...I have to think about this," he says doubtfully, milking it. He's silent for a few moments, tapping his claws on the branch. "All right, all right. You can stay for tonight. Just pack it up bright and early, and try to keep the noise down when you do."
Nita sighs again, this time relieved. She turns to Kenai. "Do you want me to bring you some berries?"

I was grateful that the raccoon was letting us stay inside his cave. It was so much better than the cold damp earth earth we had been sleeping on before.
"Do you want me to bring some berries?" Nita turned and asked me.
"Sure, I'll catch some fish." I was about to say something to Koda about helping me catch some fish, since I knew I couldn't do it on my own, but then I remembered that Koda was sleeping.
"Uhh...nevermind, berries are fine...I'm ready when you are."

Nita shakes her head. "No, I'll do it myself. You should stay here and rest." She says it sternly, but follows it with a reassuring nuzzle. "I won't be gone long."
She hopes this is the right thing to do; they can't afford any more accidents today.
The raccoon is already dozing off in the tree, catching up on his lost sleep. After last night, he actually feels safer knowing the bears are nearby.

"Fine...fine" I grumble. I walk over to Koda and pick him up by the scruff of neck, careful not wake him. I walk over to the cave and place him down next to me. I lay down and Koda cuddles into my stomach in his sleep. The last thing I remember before dozing off is: *Koda's so cute when he's sleeping...*
I drift off into the most peaceful sleep I've had in a long time...

After a few minutes, Nita returns with a branch in her mouth, snapped off from the berry bush with ease; her strength still surprises her. It's not quite a meal for a bear, but a snack to tide one over.
When she reaches the cave, she's relieved to find both of the brothers sleeping peacefully; the sight of them makes her smile. Quietly, she sets the branch down nearby, and then settles herself down close to them, angled toward the cave mouth to keep watch.
She does watch for a while, but soon enough sleep comes to her as well.

OOC: this is as Koda =)
BIC: It was early in the morning when I woke up, and I found myself snuggled into the stifling hot body of Kenai. I gently removed myself from him and slipped out of the cave, heading to the river to get something to drink. and possibly breakfast.
At the river, I splash some water onto my face, trying to wake myself up. I slept for such a long time! I see a fish darting to and fro in the water and, eyeing it carefully, I snap at it, catching it in one swift movement. Breakfast is mine!
I was in a good mood, so I caught four more fish for Kenai and NIta when they woke up. I wasn't sure what raccoons ate, so I didn't bother catch anything for him.
While I was eating, I thought about how much Kenai had scared me yesterday. He looked so ferocious! I really need to get him to teach me how to do that...
That gave me an idea. I walked back over to the cave after eating and creep up quietly next to Kenai's face. This was going to be good.
I took a deep breath and, ROAR! The only problem was, my roar still hadn't come in yet, and apparently Kenai was awake because he started to laugh while unsuccessfully smothering it.
Hmph. So much for that plan.

The raccoon, ever the opportunist, has been watching the bear cub catch fish with great interest. We even greater interest, he watches the cub sneak off toward the cave, leaving his catch unguarded.
As quickly as he can climb down the tree, he is on the ground and headed for the fish. He grabs one in his mouth and checks behind him to see if the cub is coming back yet; he's ready to scramble for the nearest tree if he's seen.
Nita wakes up to a tiny roar and muffled laughter; she guesses what's going on even before she opens her eyes and sits up, yawning.

Kenai:
I woke up to Koda's "muffled breathing". I knew what he was going to do even before he did it. I just didn't expect it to be so funny .
"Kenai, stop laughing! It wasn't that funny." Koda starts to get angry at my sudden trickery.
Before he say another word, I launch myself from a laying position at Koda, taking him surpirse.
I have one paw on his chest and say: "Got ya!"
I ran out of the cave to Koda's shouting: "Fine, you don't get any of the fish I caught then!"

"I guess you're feeling better then," Nita calls after him in amusement, before getting to all fours and stretching. She looks at Koda. "So you caught breakfast? That was sweet." She remembers something. "Oh, did you see the berries I brought back yesterday? We can have those, too."
The raccoon freezes as the big bear comes running out. His jaws clenched tightly around the fish, he makes a break for the closest tree, climbing it in a hurry. He clambers onto a sturdy branch just out of reach, holding the fish in his paws while he catches his breath.
