Reading a post Truttle made, I started wondering: when/where did you hear about Brother Bear for the first time. My was on the The Jungle Book 2 tape when we were visiting some relatives. My first impresson was: "Wow, like Lion King, only in North America! I've got to see it!" I even had a countdown in my math notebook for when the movie was coming out. ;D We saw it at a one-screen theatre (they didn't even do the ratio change! ) and then saw it again at the cheap theatre. What about the rest of you? Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

Well, to me. I kept seeing commercials ads on TV, seeing the McDonalds BB commercial, seeing clips of the BB music video of Look Through My Eyes on Disney, and Mike's Super Short Show of BB on Disney.
I always had a curiosity of seeing it, but never took my chance when it was in theatres. Then it came out on VHS and DVD, and when I saw it for rent I rented it. I loved it and I became a BB fan!
That's my story ;D

Well, there we're previews for it in theaters way before it came out. At first I thought it was just a silly movie. Then when it came out in theaters and I kept seeing commercials about it, I kept wondering if it could be that good that they'd talk about it that much. I finally couldn't take it anymore and saw it with my family when it came out in Cinema Grill.

Wow....you guys are not going to believe this but I knew about BB two years before it was released in theaters. My friend went to the disney studios and said that there was alot of bear sketches on the walls and work tables. I was so excited to hear that an animated animal movie was in production that I went to website that had info on it. At that time it was called bears (I saved that pic since the changed the title) and it was supposed to be released in the summer of 2003 but when they went back to look at the story, the felt it was too serious in the beginning and then suddenly comical in the middle. So they postponed the date to november and fixed the plot. The people who worked on this story really stuggled to make this a success. Even Phil Collins was unsure about the music. But it turned out to be a bit successful in the end....and erm, uh sorry. You all probably knew all that but uhh i like to tell stories

Believe it or not, I DO believe your story. I have this book called Brother Bear: A Transformation Tale, which explains to you all the trouble they went through to make the movie. They must've scrapped about three or four movie plots till they chose the plot we know and love today.
And yeah, it WAS called Bears but then they added BROTHER since their story was pretty revolved around brotherhood.
You can pick up the book Brother Bear: A Transformation Tale wherever books are sold, it'll explain to you all the trouble they went through to make the movie, including artworks and stills from the movie.

I actually had not seen the previews from what I can remember. Or if I did, I was not impressed from the little I would have seen.
My mom sent me the VHS, and I watched it. At first, I believe it didn't hit me. I'm not sure what sparked it, but I purchased the DVD thereafter.
But now, it's been a few months since I watched it because of how busy I've become.
Still, I see it as what can be in what I would like to do.

I went to the movies with a friend of mine to see "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas" (great movie!) and we saw the BB trailer during the previews. I had a good feeling about the movie when I saw the preview but since I was 17 I was to uncomfortable to admit it. I finally got my chance to see it when I was staying at my grandparents house to help set up for a family party, and when we finished working I suggested renting BB on DVD to watch together. I was glad that I finally got to see it, the movie was better than I hoped!

Hmmm... let's see. Well when I first heard about Brother Bear, my mom and I went to Disney's California Adventure one time and we went inside that Drawn to Animation thingy and then they show a preview of an inside peak about it and I was pretty surprised that it look like a really great movie. And I was even more shocked when I found out that Phil Collins was doing the music in the movie. Brother Bear somehow look pretty much like The Emperor's New Groove, only with bears in it. Cause let's face it, both Kuzco and Kenai are both humans that have been transform into different animals, you know what I mean? So me and my parents went to go see it on the same day it came out and we went to go see it the AMC 20 at Downdisney which was the first time we went to go to that theater. After the movie was over, I really started to like at first, but then after we saw it, we went over to Disney's California Adventure to meet Koda and Kenai and then I got my picture with them and well let's face it, I became NUTS about the movie after meeting the stars from the movie. Anyway, when I got my picture with Kenai, he was starting to flirt at me. Was I a lucky girl or what?!?!?!? ;D

I believe I saw commercial ads for it. Either that or the preview that was on when I went to Spy Kids: 3D.
