I had never thought that I would need to make this post; but with “Come Out Of The Darkness And Find Out Who You Are,” I'm afraid I haven't the faintest clue what to do with it. Confused? Let me explain. You see, I don't want to bring Tazer back until his son's able to run, at least. But until then, I'm not sure what we should do. I am out of ideas. So that is where you come in, my fellow Rpers. Do you have any ideas of what we should do? Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

I'd be glad to offer some advice or plot devices. But most of them will have to involve us traveling. If we have to hang around in one spot then it offers less for us to do. I'll think up of stuff that can help if staying in that spot is absolutely necessary.

I thought that sitting around would be boring too; but where can we go to, Truttle? Any ideas would be welcome. Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

Well, let's see...Something else to do with the RP...Hm...We could go to the salmon run river and catch some salmons to eat, also have some fun there and, you know, talk about life and get to know each other. Sounds good?

Hmm, could work could work. We could even use some of Truttle's ideas on the way. One of the Bears should definetly suggest it, as I doubt a Troodon, Thunderbird, Cave Lion, or Caribou would think to mention it. Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

I don't know about that. The salmon run isn't a year-round luxury resort, as past roleplays seem to make it out to be. Salmon don't spawn all year round. But regardless of timing, there are some more important reasons I can think of not to go there: most of the characters EP mentioned would probably have a number of reasons to avoid a large gathering of bears. Tyonek might be unafraid of predators, but he'd still have to be on his guard. I'm not sure every single bear at the run would respect his standing in our relatively small group. Somehow, no matter how accepting the bears at the run may be, it seems to me that two great cats, a living dinosaur and a giant magical bird might be pushing their hospitality to its limits; it would certainly be something a shock. Some of the bears might have reason to distrust those creatures; others might have never seen one before, and react on their fear of the unknown. And Savik, for her part, would probably not appreciate the idea of being surrounded by bears. I'm not sure about Night Bear, but given his evident feelings about his brother, and his reclusive nature, I don't know if he'd be thrilled about it either. There's also Kenai; he wouldn't feel much like going to the salmon run when Denahi is missing and might be in danger, and has something important to tell him. Going to the salmon run would either mean leaving some of these characters behind, or dealing with a lot of uncomfortable issues with character interaction. This is only my opinion, but I don't think going to the salmon run is a very good idea under these circumstances. I won't try to force anyone if most of the group would rather go to the salmon run; I do have a few ideas, however, regarding the subplot with Denahi. (Edited to correct sentence structure in a few places; edited again to clarify my point)

Heheh! I knew someone would point out that little fact about the salmon run one day. XD But anyways, I was thinking of ideas for the roleplay. Well that one of Epesi’s sounded good. We could try to make a search to try to locate the missing Denahi. Here are my ideas. 1. There could be a misbalance among the order as a tribe of humans have observed our odd group as an unnatural anomaly believed to be an oncoming omen. They’ve sent a troop in attempts to hunt us down. Counseled by Tanana, Kenai is sent to join us as a messenger to take him to that tribe’s shaman to prove that he is in lenience with the humans and that the existence of higher forces are at work as we are common spirits with the destiny to succeed in fomenting the war between the wolverines and convince the tribe to not hunt us down. 2. There could be an evil being that threatens to unleash its dark power throughout the land as it attempts to suck up energies from other sources and increase it’s own power. We’ll have to interject and put an end to its reign before it becomes too powerful. It’s kinda like what is going on with Frank with me and Mohegan, but maybe we could try something similar like that? 3. We could try to discover why Nertuark was in such a drastic condition and search for his pack? Or we could try smaller things like running into animals that need assistance like finding a lost cub. Or helping a herd of some herbivores under threat of extinction from over predation from a group of predators or something. I hope my ideas aren’t too weird or farfetched or make absolutely no sense at all since 80 percent of the time I have no idea what I’m talking about, but I hope that helps somewhat. I gave it my best shot!

Heh, I was editing some parts of my post just as yours came up. XD
Anyway, interesting -- I had considered something along those lines as the reason for Denahi's suspicions. Perhaps he became aware of a new tribe moving in not far from the village, or of some kind of dark presence, depending on which of those ideas we might use.
Maybe your two ideas could be combined; the new tribe thinks some sort of demons are afoot, but there is a darkness in their own midst.

I gave it my best shot! Heheh in an RP with a thunderbird, a dinosaur, bears, big cats, and a wolf facing a psychopath wolverine, you really don't have to worry about an idea being far-fetched. I hadn't thought about the fact that many of the pack wouldn't be happy with the Salmon Run. I like combining Truttle and Epesi's ideas. Perhaps (building on what Ken'ichi suggested) some of the bears want to go to the Salmon Run. The others are reluctant and want to remain in Tanana's camp; but then we learn about the new tribe... P.S. About the Salmon Run: actually, depending on what type of salmon they are, it could actaully be the right time. Caribou rut in October and November; so we've established that it's in either of those two months. And some salmon (at least according to the sites I found) spawn in October. Ah. I was assuming the roleplay was set around midsummer, but I never stopped to think about the caribou. But anyway, that makes sense to me. I'm not terribly knowledgable about these things myself, so I found a site that might be useful for the roleplays, as it has charts for the seasonal temperatures and hours of daylight in different parts of Alaska. www.travelalaska.com/Climate/Averages.aspxIf I'm not mistaken, Brother Bear seems to take place around the Southcentral region, correct?
