I have read your rules and noted that you do not allow humans. Yet immediately following this statement, you give your reason: You wish to maintain a mostly animal environment. I understand and agree with these rules. I do, however, have some technical, hypothetical questions I would like to present to you concerning an idea of mine (I am 'new').
In the RPs you have several characters which were human but have become animals, despite the fact that "Spirits don't usually make these kinds of changes." Would it be possible to have an original character that was originally an animal become human--during the RP? This, I suppose, is the big question...In your answering it, assume also that the new animal-human doesn't take up with a human or go to a human village but remains in a natural environment.
(By the way, do the RPs EVER enter a human village?)
I ask because I have a very specific story in mind, at least for my character, which would obviously need to get a decent amount of people agreeing to participate before it got off the ground. But if you say no, I'll go with that. Thanks for the clarification.

Concerning the rules...There has been little done to the rules since they were released, and, though I'm too busy (and lazy) right now, I'll work on changing them a bit. I had imagined that this question would arise sooner or later. About the spirits changing stuff; most of the characters created for use here at the RP's are made from the imaginations of their creators, and according to them, their characters may have different pasts, beliefs, or changes in their life. Any involvment in the human villages with your own characters are up to you. You may do as you like as far as that goes. I'm willing to change to rules and meant to for a while now. I'm glad that you took the time to read the rules and the individual RP's. You must forgive me for I have not updated the forums as much as I'd like to. I'd like for you to free lance with your story; go on and make a thread and begin from there. I have no problem with the involvement of humans. Sorry if I'm not very coherant or contradicting my own rules, but you may go ahead with your idea even if it involves the scenario you have in mind with humans. Enjoy.

I am wondering about the humans in role-play -thing, too. Now I can't find one unambiguous rule about whether people can role-play with human characters on not. In Role-Playing rules, it seems to be allowed ("fan-characters can be humans, animals, anthros, whatever"), but creating original human characters is against the rules of the Character Introduction board ("Please keep your characters within the animal criteria. Primates, humans, and fish like characters are not allowed unless otherwise noted."). Here Devonian seems to be allowed to use human characters, but what about the others?
If someone wants to start a role-play of, for example, the three brother's childhood, isn't it necessary to add some original human characters as the villagers? Or aren't we just allowed to put their profiles to the Character Introduction board?

I think what the rules are trying to explain, is that you can role play the human characters from both the Brother Bear movies, but not create human characters. So basically it's alright to role play, Kenai as a human, Denahi, sitka, tenana and so on, but you aren't allowed to create human characters. I understand that it can be confusing, 2 rules opposing each other. I hope this gives some clarification, otherwise keep on asking, and I'll do my best to provide a valid answer to whatever questions you might have. enjoy your stay

Hmm. Well, it all depends really. There might be Roleplays where humans can be roleplayed as. But in some existing Roleplays however, human characters don't really fit into the story.
It all depends really, a human can somehow talk to animals with the help of the Northern Lights and/or wants to protect the wildlife. It is a practice not often done in the Roleplays, and it really depends if the story behind the character and/or Roleplay makes sense and fits nicely into the reason there's a human to be roleplayed as in the Roleplay.
Like I said, it all depends on the Roleplay, the story behind the human, and the roleplayer. All in all, it is acceptable and welcomed to the Roleplays depending how it is done.
