My internet provider has been charging outrageous prices for cable internet, and delivering VERY slow speeds (less than Dial Up Speeds most of the times) and a connection that constantly goes offline. After MANY attempts to get them out here to correct their problems with the connection (on both the television and internet) I got fed up with it and told them to cancel the services all together today.
Only problem is, that is the ONLY internet provider in this area, other than Dial up. I won't go back to Dial up, PLUS we do not have a house phone. We all have cell phones.
So until they put in a better DSL sytem or another cable company comes in I'll be without internet. Hopefully I can look in the phone book and find some company that provides broadband internet soon. So this may not even be an issue, but just incase I am without internet for a long period of time...Just wanted to let you all know.

Aww man! This is unbelievable! I hate it when everything computer wise just causes trouble! That's all it seems good for! Dammit! It'd suck to not be able to hear from you anymore! I'd miss you too much! I really hope you find something! Really hope you can fix it!

No luck in finding another broadband internet provider thus far. There is one DSL company...But I'll need to have a home phone for that also, which is 39 dollars a month, plus another 25.99 dollars a month for DSL internet through them. Not to mention a 300 dollar connection, service and equipment fee for the initial month. And from what I heard from other DSL users in this area, DSL is worse than the cable internet, because of the old, overworked phone line system they have here. It keeps disconnecting and has slow speeds when its on...Which is the same problem I was having with cable. I don't know what I'll do...
~~UPDATE~~ Since I canceled the cable TV also, I'm going to set up the satellite system, and get Satellite internet through Dish Network. Called them Today, said they can set up the new dish Monday. 23.55 a month for 5 Mb/s broadband, 52.95 a month for Basic TV and another 75.00 for all of the extra channels. Its a free install too.
But since I have a cracked Satellite box, I'll soon cancel the TV service and just keep the Internet, watch the TV for free, because I hardly ever watch it anyhow. I used to have this service, and the only problem I had with it was every time it rained or got windy, I would lose signal. Which also means internet.

Geez. Sounds like an absolute nuisance for you. Well at least you found yourself someway of connecting to the internet... even if bad weather disables it. That wouldn't work well here then. There's always rain or wind here. =p Still it's good to know that you're able to get on one way or another. Hopefully they'll all gather their wits over there and put in a better internet service. In the meantime, I'm just happy to know that I'll still be seeing you online. ^^
