It's horrible and makes me angry too. Why a weapon was so easy to get is beyond me. I think schools should have a metal detector at the doors or something.

Yeah... that shooting in Blackburn is a shock in Poland too... I just wonder why american law give a right to buy a gun to everyone or at least for adults... in here people may buy most of guns when they are adults AND when they will pass special psychyc exam (which is executed by police etc.)
However I feel badfor what happened in Virginia... Poland is with you in these days.

The news of this shooting saddened and angered me at how a college student would do such a thing over whatever reason he had. He not only killed students but also professors. A sad day in U.S. history, 32 poor souls were lost due to one psychopath. What was that man thinking...

It was 33 dead... I think.
There was definately an intent to break the previous record for a shooting. This guy tripled it!! The previous record was 11 held by Eric Harris from Littleton, Arizona. But somehow... I find his story to be more interesting. But perhaps its because I know more about his. Anyway... Eric Harris was a reject of society. So he would have developed a hatred for the world. So it seems that perhaps the solution to this is to make sure nobody gets rejected in the world.
What is called "gun control" in america though... its just a waiting period and a criminal background check. And in New york... you can just rent a gun for just $5 a night. How can such a civilised country allow this to happen? And with all the gangs and shootings there are around... you'd think gun control would be a little more strict!!
Blaming students for not having weapons on hand in case of this event is just stupid... plain stupid. The campus had a ban against weapons on the premesis. They should stop pointing fingers and start doing something about it!!
Over here in england... not even very many policemen get guns. But people still get guns illegally. What are the policemen with a stick going to do against a gun? All they could do is negociate or run...
One other thing does bother me... why did nobody stop him when he reloaded?
Sorry for the rant... and I'm sorry if I got off topic. I just got in a long train of though about how stupid the western world is with guns. And I just find it so stupid how they don't seem to have the common sense to keep this kind of thing from happening.

Reloading a gun, can be done in a matter of seconds, if you know how to operate one. Lets say you have a glock 19 (which was one of the guns, Cho Seung Hui used) The Glock 19 can hold clips with 15, 17, 19 and 33 rounds in them. Lets say he used clips with 19 rounds. Cho Seung Hui, comes barging in to the class-room, and instantly starts firering at the students, shooting the professor, and the students on the front row first. There is no way they were prepared for that to happen, and couldn't really do anything to defend themselves, which is why people on the back-rows naturally dropped on the ground, trying to take cover. Having emptied his clip, he presses the eject button and the clip quickly falls to the ground. He then inserts another clip, also with 19 rounds, and continues shooting. This shouldn't take more than a maximum of 3 seconds, if you're familiar with the gun, based on what one of the victims said, Cho Seung Hui reloaded his gun in about 1.5 seconds. Now this is only considering that he used only one of his guns, but as you know, Cho Seuing Hui used two guns, which would have resulted in even more carnage. Of course the other class-rooms reacted by attempting to barricade their doors. Some succeeded, and others failed. Perhaps you should listen to this interview with one of the victims: youtube.com/watch?v=wqfKpYTtOBw These shootings are indeed horrible. Why don't they equipt the professors with guns? give them a mean to defend themselves? As for the western worlds, stupid "Gun policy".... I don't think, being able to buy AK-47s without even having to show ID, in some middle eastern countries and most African countries, is better at all.....

31 people were killed, plus 1 more if you count Hui killing himself. A real tragedy.
Hui's parents feel awful about this, but what baffles me is the reason Hui did it. I understand an inner anger growing when he was extremely picked on at High School, heck, high school isn't easy to anybody. He was new to this place and he had a horrible high school. A history of autism. He never opened to anybody and he was known to always been silent and isolated.
The pictures and videos he sent to NBC before killing the other 29 people were disturbing, you could clearly see and hear his hatred. Whatever he tried to accomplish, he failed. All he said was made the world weep.
As for about the gun, he purchased them LEGALLY, the problem is that it's apparently too easy to get a gun. Show them your ID, some other papers, check you don't have a criminal record, BAM! Here's your gun.
It's a really sad event. And no matter how many security we implement, the criminal mind always, ALWAYS, finds a way to sneak in their weapons and cause damage. The best we can do is minimize it.
