Remember when I mentioned that I missed out on the premier of Brother Bear on the first day because of the bus strike? Well things are about to get much much worse.
The MTA Board with Mayor Villaraigosa is proposing the community pay even more to get to work and school. Tripling the fares for seniors and the disabled. The fare increase attacks the students and the working poor of Los Angeles. Big Sunday is a day for us to improve our community but on "Big Monday" the Mayor will increase bus fares and services cuts! It's a hypocracy!
MTA's Two-Year Fare Increase Proposal
Current July '07 Jan,. '09
Day Pass $3 $5 $8
Monthly Pass $52 $75 $120
Bi-Weekly $27 Eliminated
Weekly $14 $20 $32
Student Pass (k-12) $20 $45 $72
Senior/Disabled Pass $12 $37.50 $60
College Pass $30 $52.50 $84

Whoa! That's a darn lot! Even in here it's cheaper... wel... but there are old buses too XD Too bad that people in these times are looking for a money instead of tryin to help citizens
