That's cool rabidchild! Would like to see your picture if you'd like to share it.
--- To E.P. While looking for the year of production for "The Polar Bear King", I went into Imdb.com and typed in the title for the search, and it showed up as one of listings. So I guess I was lucky in finding it. Now to see if I can buy it from some where. Haven't had much luck. Even with Ebay.

All right, Traditional Animation Brethren!!! Go rabidchild!! ;D May the force be with in finding it, Truttle. Man, I've been very neglectful of this. but hey, better to update sooner than later eh? Ahem, The Fox and the Hound (which I'm sure most of you have seen ) is a tale about a pet fox (Tod) and hound (Copper) forming a friendship as pups. When they grow up, Copper says that their friendship cannot continue because "that's the way things have to be." Still, he promises he won't hurt his friend. That changes when Tod accidently nearly kills Copper's role-model Chief. Copper swears revenge on his the fox. Tod is taken to reserve where he meets a vixen. Copper and his master Amos trepass and smoke the reynard and his mate out of their den. Copper accdiently leads his master to the wrong den... a den that belongs to huge gray grizzly bear. The bear attacks the helpless hunter and hound. Tod rushes to Copper's rescue and fights the bear. The two tumble over a waterful. Tod survives; but the fox is so weak the collapses... with Amos's gun aimed at his head. Copper steps in-between the hunter and prey. Meeting his master's eyes, he whines softly. Amos lowers his gun and walks off. As the fox an dhound part, both remember the promise of friendship they made long ago. Ahem... yeah this story had a hunter and of course a beautifully animated bear. Er sorry if that got a little long. Kalak of the Ice by Jim Kjelgaard is an excellent book. It's set in the far north and is about a female polar bear named Kalak. She hates wolves and men and is despert to raise her cubs to adulthood (all the rest of them have died). it also about an Eskimo (I forget his name. Hey I read this several months ago! ) chief trying to lead his tribe. The leader may hunt the bears (indded he kills Kalak's mate) but he still admires the polar bear. While I wait for Jane to reply, here's some more! The American Eagle by John Pezzenti Jr. is an excellent book filled with breath-taking images of bald eagles like Sitka, from young gray eaglets through immatures to beautiful adults. It even mentions the Kenai River! I definetly recommend this book! One of Aesop's fables has to do with a bear, and since it's barely over a paragraph in length I'll just reprint it here instead of sending you guys through the tons of books entitled "Aesop's Fables. [glow=red,2,300]A Bear was boasting one day of his great love for mankind, saying that he had such a respect for humans that he would not even touch a dead body. A Fox nearby said smiling, "I would think more of your great love if you never ate them alive. * Kindness is better given to the living than to the dead.[/glow] And then there's Disney short about moose that was released in 1950 called Morris, the Midget Moose. The red-tan Morris, you see, is the laughing-stock of the moose tribe. With his shoulder not even reaching the lead bull's knee, he can't run with the herd, reach the succulent leaves from the trees, or wade into the lakes to eat water-grasses. Eventually its time for all of the other males to challenge the current giant leader Thunderclap. Morris, realizing his spread of antlers are as big as anyone's charges at Thunderclap. Unfortunatly he misses the leader by miles and Thunderclap leaves laughing. Morris soon encounters a huge bull with tiny antlers named Balsam. They become pals and work together to get the food, with Morris on top of Balsam's shoulders. Together they challenge Thunderclap, revealing him to be a coward and bully and winning. Together Balsam/Morris team become the new leader. Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

Sorry it took so long, between work and Christmas shopping...
Any way, it was based on the true story of a Canadian soldier, enroute to World War I from Winnipeg, who adopts an orphaned bear cub at White River Ontario. It is namned Winnie (for Winnipeg) and eventually ends up at the London Zoo where it became the inspiration for A.A.Milne's Winnie The Pooh stories. (from imdb.com)

Checked it out- very cool! Hopefully it'll be on again. Ahem, here's some more BB-related things! Quicksand and Grizzlies. Okay, so besides the first chapter it has nothing to do with BB but hey, it's funny! ;D Anywho, it's a humorus book on how to survive a bear, a shark, getting off a runaway scooter, etc. I highly recommend it! Legend of LoboIt's a 1962 Disney movie that follows a gray wolf named Lobo's life in the west. I've never seen it, but it sounds good eh? ;D Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

JACKPOT!!!! I found a book called The Sacred Paw. It's all about the bear in myth, legend, and folklore- very interesting! Warning- some of the myths are a little mature, so I wouldn't recommend this book to pups. Live long and prosper. -EbonyPatriot

I've seen some Wolf's Rain DVDs in Suncoast. Maybe you could find them there. Do you have a Suncoast nearby?
I think they still have Wolf's Rain on TV, on Cartoon Network when Adult Swim comes on. Though, last time I watched it there it aired at 1AM or 12PM, don't quite remember, but it was late at night. I like the anime, I just wish I could buy the DVDs (Short on cash, though considering buying them with my birthday money.)
